I was surprised that they put half hour of ASEAN (not complaining) and were light on the fluff this time! Overall I liked it!

Similarly, I thought this year's NAVI had a good mix of everything. Showing Sasuke is still relevant all over the map, covering events leading up to Sasuke 30, featuring a wide number of the prominent competitors and knowing WHO to focus on to get people to tune in, and some runs thrown in for fun. Could have probably used a little more spoiler bait but I actually kind of appreciate the results being hush hush for once and not having my expectations up too high going into the real deal.

They showed stuff from ASEAN?! The one that's supposedly not being broadcast? Shoot, damn me and my odd work hours keeping me from that livestream. Ah well, maybe that Navi will pop up somewhere I can watch. Cheers!

I agree. The feel is different in Navi now that Inui is back editing them. When I look back at the other Navi's in the past though I usually saw a lot of filler stuff (okay.. 10 minutes of Nagano.. 10 minutes of Yamada, etc. etc.) like a checklist and then zomg spoil everything in 30 seconds at the end please watch™. This time is totally different and felt like I was actually watching a "program". Especially the ASEAN part. Also with the mix of fluff with the people to watch (loved seeing the Hioki and Kawaguchi fluffs) and some runs to get you into what the course looks like beforehand. I liked it!

Hello!! I'm a new member here!
I know that downloading a video is not permitted, but unfortunately I overslept and I lost the SASUKE NAVI. So I'm wondering if there is any way to SEE(NOT DOWNLOADED) it because it would be a shame to miss it for just an hour.
Thanks in advance!

New people. Welcome! However... please read the board rules. It says clearly to not ask on the boards but ask the moderators in private. Thanks!

Were they weights or just arm/knee pads?

Were they weights or just arm/knee pads? Weights. She meant that clip of him running up the stairs, not running the course with weights on lol

Was it just me or did I saw Nagano exhausted in the end of stage two?

Was it just me or did I saw Nagano exhausted in the end of stage two? he looked too young to be Nagano... But idk. Were they weights or just arm/knee pads? Weights. She meant that clip of him running up the stairs, not running the course with weights on lol yeah that was it. also is it me or does Shiratori look the same as back in the day?

As much as I enjoyed the Navi, where was the love for Urushihara? You'd think that at least some mention of the only two-time champion would occur.

I feel like in general the producers just don't like the UNCLI members. We don't get fluff pieces on any of them really. Of course a reason for this may be because their fluff is comprised of their training, which we've seen a thousand times. Another reason may be in part because their isn't as much to talk about with them outside of Sasuke as there is for other competitors, especially for those such as Shiratori who haven't competed in a while. In theory viewers also like to see fluff pieces on their favorite competitors such as Nagano, and in turn that reels viewers in more than offering pieces on UNCLI members whose fanbase in general isn't as prominent.

Hold on, we did get a Ryo fluff piece, so there was some love for UNCLI. That said, since I was using my sister's phone to attempt to watch the stream (no internet at home, but she has a smartphone and I was desperate ), what is his job now? Is he going to get a new job for every Sasuke? It's still hard to get used to Kawaguchi with hair. (Comment on one run that was shown:) Also... yo, ToQ #4, your own show's theme song says to go for it and don't be late, just sayin' (and, yes, that was going through my head during his run - I was actually yelling it at the screen, LOL). I guess he needed a theme song power up to remind him of that.

The UNCLI members and New Stars don't really need fluff because they've been getting results recently and results equal camera time on the main show. Aside from Shingo, Ryo and Hitoshi are the guys that get called up to do PR stuff recently.
The All-Stars have needed fluff pieces because they've only been appearing in the first half of the show recently.

It was bound to happen since he's the second oldest of the fabled all stars. And Shingo seriously looks early 30's still! (back on topic) What part of the Navi got you most excited for SASUKE 30?

(snip!) And Shingo seriously looks early 30's still! (back on topic) What part of the Navi got you most excited for SASUKE 30? It must be a born in 1974 thing, we all look younger than we are, probably because of the sheer awesomeness of that year in Japanese pop culture history. (ducks and laughs - Shingo's a few months older than me, so I couldn't resist, and 1974 did give us Hello Kitty, Space Battleship Yamato, and 3 Kamen Rider shows - oh, and Suzumura Kenichi for anime fans, he's another 1974 baby) As for what I'm most excited about in Sasuke 30, right now it's Kawaguchi's and Hioki's runs, since I have a feeling they did really well based on how TBS is pimping them, and I'm really happy for them if that's the case. Also, just seeing Bunpei, but all of us are stoked about that.

(Also I'm 20 years younger than Shingo. )
