That would set up for 20 episodes. 3 for each region (2 for Quals + 1 for Finals) and 5 for Vegas, perhaps?

Wow, that's almost 4 months. I haven't been keeping up with ANW6 so I don't know if they're doing the same thing as last year, but it seems like they'd need an extra round of qualifying (like a boot camp or additional course) to stretch it to 20 weeks.
America's Got Talent is the same length as ANW, and that show always feels like an eternity from the first auditions to the finale. And AGT even has more rounds than ANW...
Very interesting.

Thefutoncritic has it listed as 16 weeks/episodes
Talk about a bloated season. ANW5 was about 12 weeks, and ANW4 took about 10 weeks to finish.
An overstuffed ANW6 makes no sense. ANW5 took a hit going up against the NFL and the fall season premieres, and they decide to do the same dumb thing for ANW6.

So, does that mean more competitors are going to be shown per region than last year?

I'm sure it will mean more fluff pieces. NBC knows that's why people watch in the first place. Maybe this year everyone will get fast forwarded and they'll just show the background stories.

I would assume the same amount shown, I think they mentioned somewhere it's going to be just on NBC instead of mixing with NBC and G4/Esquire. Not to mention the fact there are 5 cities instead of 4, seems like the same amount of competitors will be shown

As the season dwindled last year the ratings actually went down.. I think this is too long. However since they lost G4 and have no place to "showcase" the rest of what they cut from NBC.. that makes more sense. I still don't see this working but just a reminder.. this is NBC. They aren't known for the most solid of decisions. A bonus those to the athletes competing, they no longer have to worry of having to find a channel that no one has. It's less confusing that way.

There is speculation of possibly 6 cities, the 5 in the locations thread plus an unknown for Northeast. Again just a rumor at this point, but if true it would even things out with the episodes to have 2 per city and 4 for Vegas.

Thing is,assuming they have one two-hour episode a week vs. ANW5's one two hour episode, then one one hour episode, it will likely be fewer episodes, just spread out more over time.
