Please keep ALL discussion for these episodes in their respective threads. Monday, July 22, 2013 - NBC Network8:00 PM - S05, E08 - Denver Qualifying - Part 2 Description: A qualifying round in Denver featuring obstacles such as the Rolling Log, the Rotating Bridge, the Jump Hang Kai and the Grip Hang. Contestants include professional snowboarder Graham Watanabe. This is 1 hour show. Going to be using TV Guide and winging it to get the correct dates (especially after the debacle with the zap it website).. This is Denver, Colorado on NBC. Please keep this specific region on this thread only. Don't bring up other regionals into discussion here. Keep that on those threads. REMINDER: There are people who did not read the respective spoiler threads from when the competition was taped.. please do not include information from that thread here. Stick to the episode shown. Last reminders of course that all of this thread is a spoiler thread for what is shown on G4's broadcast.

So I guess we'll see about 10 full runs (as usual) at the most because EVERYBODY gets a freakin 2-4 minute profile.

Is Brian Arnold the guy who in ANW 2 missed out on Semifinals by like a second with the mustache?

Wow, Denver definitely seems like the easiest course by far. They might have dumbed it down a bit due to the high altitude, but obviously people are just blowing through it.

Why is it they say "7 completed the course including Jimmy James, a mechanic from New York City finished the course in 2 minutes." Why do they just say the name of one person?

I wasn't shown! But fear not, for I have SIDELINE FOOTAGE (which very sadly cuts off right at the end).

Awesome! I'm from Kansas City too. Have him teach you to knot ties. He's definitely achieved master ninja rank in that.

This city, has by far been the easiest. It seems that way. :/ Meanwhile, all the other courses were a lot more technical. ....SHENANIGANS!!! *gets my broomstick and protests* In all seriousness though, finally watched it, despite having a power outage that made me miss it, and I was really amazed at how many cleared. In a way, I see it as both good and bad for how it's great to see that so many stepped up to the plate and beaten the qualifier, but I wonder if there's going to be some form of a backlash on how some people can view Denver having a "lower difficulty" compared to the others.

This city, has by far been the easiest. It may seem that way, because of the number of clears, but there were a lot of big names running (Paul Kasemir, Jake Smith and his buddies) that had already made it through last year's course. On top of that, don't underestimate how much the elevation can affect you. Having a fair bit of stamina at sea level will not get you far if you suddenly have to compete thousands of feet higher, where the air is thinner. If they had, say, the Peg Board instead of the Grip Hang, I'd be surprised if more than 20 people made it up the wall.
