Yeah but it never hit #1. I was monitoring that all tournament. It was considered weak all day. That concerns me ratingswise. We'll see since that's not always a good indication on how ratings will equate. For the record Sasuke's highest was during the 2nd stage during all the backstream fails. Trending was backstream and everyone yelling that it was a horrible addition to Sasuke. Most were screaming to remove it. Then it stopped. It didn't trend until 2 minutes to the end of the 3rd stage and then gone. By comparison Sasuke 28 was trending solid #1 during the first stage then plummeted at the end of the 1st stage never to return.

By comparison Sasuke 28 was trending solid #1 during the first stage then plummeted at the end of the 1st stage never to return. Can't say I'm shocked about that one bit Back to 29, it's too bad the peak of the tending was during the worst (IMO) part of the broadcast. The first stage lacked the Star Power that would get casual fans talking. No fit boy-band members, hardly any comedians or tv stars (that I could determine), etc. It also didn't help that some of the more recognizable names (such as Yuuji and Shunsuke) were FF'd completely. I feel the Backstream backlash was mainly the hardcore fans that were displeased with what they saw. The third stage was fantastic from a hardcore fan's viewpoint, but I can see how casual viewers would be completely disinterested. I know this Sasuke was more geared to finding qualifiers for the ASEAN cup, so maybe they've set ratings expectations based on that? It will be very interesting to see ratings numbers this time around. Of course, I always hope for the best, but I'm just not feeling like this did super well.
