I was reading something on the Sasuke wikipedia page and came across this on the bottom. with regards to Nagano failing Gliding Ring, it said. "^ Now called Final Ring because in attempt to slant it to make the ring "glide" Makoto proved gliding was not possible on the ring."
Is this true? I'd never heard this.

Someone spammed the page. You can safely ignore any naming changes to obstacles until the show itself occurs.

I vote that we should just call it the Final Ring from here on in and forget this whole Gliding Ring business ever happened.

That's completely backwards, from 18 to 20 there was an obstacle called the Final Ring, then in 21 they added the notch and called it Gliding Ring. To think, Nagano could have made it to the Final Stage if they didn't add the notch.

we have no way of proving that.

Isn't the notch meant to make it easier...?

I meant that we don't know that Nagano would have made it or fallen like in 21.

Well he failed when trying to get into the notch, if there was no notch he could have just started the swing and maybe made it.
I said Could Have ya' know.

That last statement is entirely true.

He failed for 2 reasons.. stupid bar actually was bending from the weight of the ring (Ring was too heavy and the pole was too thing.. it was made of aluminum...) AND he crashed right before the notch and that got him stuck. He couldn't get it in the notch to lock it into place. By the time he got there he was friggin' winded.

Well, well, well. So the great "Gliding" Ring obstacle didn't do what it was supposed to do? Eitehr they change the name or change the obstacle- if they don't change it no one gets past it.

My GUESS is that they will change it. Apparently a loooooooong conversation (like friggin 30 minutes) between Nagano and Higuchi in private occurred. Obviously out of earshot and of course in Japanese So I'm sure they were discussing possible changes, etc. to that obstacle. Only time will tell. 12 days to taping of Sasuke 22..

Wow, I'd love to have long conversation with Higuchi but apparently, you need to be in final stage 4 times to have that privilege. I hope Nagano brought up about distance between Gliding Ring and final platform because the distance looks so insane to me. But I hope they will use strong pole, not the aluminum so it can support the Ring.

Man, that's just brutal jump to make after you just almost complete the arduous third stage. Only those with steel testicles can make that jump.
