From what I remember about 28 it seems the majority of answers/replies/info came from his Twitter and not FB, wouldn't hurt to try that.

The only the FB news we got was from the SASUKE page they finally created, and even then, it was simply promoting Malaysia, Singapore, Europe's upcoming attempt, a video with Yuuji and the 'last hurrah' for the All-Stars. Everything else of note he was willing to answer that wasn't on TBS' page for Sasuke was from Inui via Twitter.

1) When he knows, he'll say something. He does not have final say about the recording and airing dates. Remember that he is the director. Not the producer. He has people he has to listen and answer to.
2) SASUKE is not the only thing he is doing/has to get done. He just finished up working on the World Table Tennis Championships for TV Tokyo and is only now going to get started on SASUKE.

Exactly what everyone is saying Inui only answers a few question and just like Ube said.. when he knows. I'd say out of 100 questions he answers like 20 of mine.. LOL I can tell when he either doesn't know or won't tell me when he answers like 4 questions in a row.. then doesn't. then I ask 1 more and he'll skip one question and answer the rest.. ahahahhahaha He's now working on Sasuke as he just finished his 3rd project in a row (and another coming up actually). Hell.. during Sasuke he produced 6 of the New Year's shows at the same time.. dude doesn't sleep and is constantly working. I'm surprised he's still upright.. Good luck and let us know if you get through to him! Given the subject (Americans on Sasuke) I'm hoping we get some sort of an answer. He probably won't have it but it's worth a try. That's an important question now that NBC boycotted Rising.

I hope that due to the US situation that Sasuke starts welcoming foriegners as much as they did before G4's involvement. I also hope there aren't any scheduling conflicts with the two Midoriyama (the real one and the vegas (faulty ) rebuild). Also sort of wandering from the contacting Inui part, I'm not sure if anyone told you but you may want to check out that Sasuke overseas special, I might be mistaken but if I remember correctly it looked like they used a clip of your testing when Nagano and the TBS reporter were getting to Vegas Midoriyama, I know Inui himself didn't work on that (and didn't even know much about what it was before it aired) but that might be able to help you

Rider I know the producer that did that project is no longer working on Sasuke programs. Inui and Kikuno (the new producer) were hired to replace that person right after that. Inui was rehired for 29. I assume Kikuno was as well?

I'm a bit confused here (not sure if I'm reading something wrong or there's a misunderstanding on your part), I'm not sure if you just mean Kikuno was hired after that but I thought Inui was already on board with Sasuke at the time of that, if I remember correctly I thought that special was announced at some time during Inui's editing of Rising, I forget if he was finishing it up or waiting for graphics. For clarification I'm talking about the "sasuke overseas special" that aired like a week (or couple of days, I forget) before Rising's broadcast (the one that where it was mostly nagano's trip to ANW4 (with a bit on ANW2, Sasuke Malaysia and his new ship). I bring it up because if I remember correctly (I'd check but my pc died) they showed Mike clearing the Step Slider and Giant Swing. ramblingrican.blogspot.com/2012/12/sasuke-in-las-vegas-nagano-special-in.htmlThere, that thingy, which was awkward to hunt for on Wii U lol

I can only speak about the taping. The Sasuke overseas was produced and edited in April, 2012 during ANW4's Final in Vegas. Inui was hired along with Kikuno around June and the previous producer was fired in May. When it aired was irrelevant. That was TBS' call. But in terms of the special.. that was produced by people who are no longer attached to Sasuke. For purposes of this thread Inui is still the only contact we have publicly. I use twitter to contact him but I don't touch Facebook. I'm also not familiar how much he communicates with people on FB. I can only speak on Twitter on that.

Ah, had no clue that it was already in production THAT long before the announcement (I don't mean airing, I mean the announcement before it, wasn't it only a couple weeks before the airing we found out). I mean I should have figured due to Nagano being in Vegas but still, didn't realize they worked on it so long before anyone outside TBS heard anything.

Yeah I was actually surprised the show made it on TBS at all. There's a bunch of stuff they've recorded over the years that never made the light of day. This was one of them. Inui was surprised it was airing as well. Seems they wanted as much advance notice for Rising and threw everything they had that might have been relevant to it. Notice how different the "feel" of the show was as well. Totally different editing and directing choices in that one. Either way Mike should keep trying to ask Inui. I don't have contact information for Kikuno. I also don't have direct contact with TBS (those names change constantly btw). It's an important question. I want American inclusion again and we are running out of time for Sasuke 29. My fear though is that Comcast/NBC gave TBS the numbers. Iirc.. there were 10,000 entries to ANW5. Imagine what that number will look to TBS who's used to only a couple thousand from Japanese. In the past they deferred to G4 to dwindle the number down internally (which turned into ANW from ANC) to help sift through applicants. TBS could very well say to Comcast.. that's too much just keep ANW and we'll keep Sasuke as we have in the past. I don't want that either. So I'm hopeful someone gets through to TBS to find out definitively if the Americans will now be sent back to ANW instead of being able to go to Sasuke. I'm quite concerned.

Completely understandable, I'm the same way with training clips, I can only imagine how much scrapped (for lack of better term) footage a TV station has in the archives.
But yeah, I really hope the comcast's spun numbers don't influence TBS (which they misunderstand the reality of anyways (but that's understandable how it appears different to TBS)) and that foreigners can apply to the original Sasuke if they want to. At the very least I hope that americans can get on TBS's radar and get a spot (Like Will Dodd and the Lobeck brothers), that's not an ideal solution but it's better than nothing...
Best solution for both channels would be a mix of both ANW setups, continues with american midoriyama (like ANW 4-5 but hopefully better built and ran than ANW4, personally construction seems better in anw5 so far but midoriyama hasn't happened yet) but the top 5-10 from vegas earn spots in Sasuke (while entries directly to TBS are still allowed under standard TBS picking). Hypothetically lets say ANW4 was ran like that, Rising spots would have been Brent S, Derek N, Paul K, Ahmed T and David R. obviously that didn't happen but that's the example of the best solution in the state of things now

There's a lot of political stuff going on in the background in NBC though that I know is happening. I'm hoping TBS though makes the decision to allow people to apply directly. Given though that Sasuke 29 is being heavily leaning towards the Sasuke ASEAN Open Cup in November I'm hoping that they aren't closing the door for future foreign participation. I know NBC can care less about the ASEAN .. that's evident. However right now that's what TBS is concentrating on. I just asked Inui if we know if NBC is sending anyone. I doubt I'll hear anything especially if he doesn't know. Anyone that can get answers please update this thread.

Even though I'm not a fan of NBC's monopoly on the matter, I still hope that TBS removes that lockout for 30 (assuming they don't tie that to another ASEAN cup if it proves successful this year).

I think they are talking more about people coming in from America who are not Japan-based. Up until G4 got involved, it was kind of anything goes. People could try to send in applications even if they were currently living in a foreign country. Whether or not they got accepted was something else but they never actively discouraged people from turning in applications until G4 began sending people they selected via ANW. That was when the SASUKE producers started telling people in the US that they couldn't apply via TBS/Monster9.

Also so much has happened since Comcast took over full force with NBC and ANW became the monster it is now. NBC will never let go of that cash cow and now that they get ratings from it there's no way in hell they will send anyone to Japan diluting their Final as the be all and end all. I'm royally pissed about that because ANW was supposed to be the US qualifier for Sasuke. Now it deems itself to be more important that Sasuke.

Well even before they seriously went out of their way to make it look like two events... TBH I think thats why they decided to bring it to america and keep it here... so the course still reflects a continuation of 27's course, they have to keep the illusion... if it's two different events having an overhaul like after Yuuji's Kanzenseiha makes no sense because no one became the first American Ninja Warrior... I realized that on the ride home on friday night of the baltimore regionals...
