The wetness in Venice was mostly due to condensation and mist coming off the ocean. I wouldn't suspect it would be an issue in any of the other cities really. Actually looking at the aerial view map provided.. it's right on the water? So possible problems if that's the case?

Actually the course was right by the Inner Harbor here. Honestly I think it's closer to the water than in Venice, but then again you also got the boats and bleachers (and the walkways instead of beach) blocking it kinda

I'm sorry I was referring to Miami coming up next. I suspected the ones asking about the wetness was because of the torrential rains the day before.

Yeah just wondering about the condition of the course in Baltimore, I know there was a lot of rainfall the first night but seems like it died up the second night when everyone ran. In Venice there seemed to be water everywhere, I guess some of it was from the ocean mist/condensation, and some of it was the water splashed up from failed competitors. Curious to see if it's unique to Venice or not, although I'm sure there probably was some water on the Baltimore course from the splashes at least? Did they have towels on the course? Good to hear that people agree wetness want really an issue though

Condensation won't be an issue in miami with how warm it is at night.

The course actually recovers from rain pretty fast it seems, it was raining the morning before testing and when the testers got out there it was dry.
And they did have a couple towels out on the course for competitors to dry their hands and feet, they they did do some maintaining dryness on paths, although the only obstacle I saw being dried was the Warped Wall

But you're right, I don't see it being a problem in.... Denver only? ;-D

It wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been, though. The ropes were a little slick, but the rest was only mildly damp, and the wall had blowers on it. The night before would have been a nightmare.

Btw if at all possible we can talk about Miami on that thread as I'm concerned as well about the condensation being an issue with injuries in Miami. We are still a couple weeks out right? I just did a cursory look of the weather and outside of the 80's temps I didn't see that much rain in the 10 day. But.. being friggin' tropical.. that's only percentages and it's always humid down there. As for Baltimore I guess we don't have more information about what happened over the weekend outside of the couple reports already posted? Do we have a working number of confirmed Vegas-bound guys adding up from what we know from Venice? Are we at 30 yet confirmed combined?

I think they are keeping top finishers thing, I may or may not know of people who didn't complete the course who may or may not have made vegas

The cold was more of a factor than the dampness. I know a lot of people were having some grip issues as a result

It's still top 15 advancing, unless there are 15+ clears (all clears advance regardless of time... but they don't let you hang out between obstacles) Still speculation as to what they're going to do with the rest of the slots.

Cool thanks. I remember reading something on "you cleared it you go" on some article buried in one of the threads which is why I was asking if we had a hard number on who actually cleared (which I believe is less than 15 per region so far?). So at the very worst it's 30 confirmed with a bunch of people on the bubble that they can mess with later once all 4 regions have played out.

Oh, something I just remembered, does anyone find it awkward as f*** how on the monitor they were showing a bit of the Dallas recap eps on the monitor during the "lunch" break? I mean sure it featured some competitors who ran in baltimore (either due to region switching or in one case scheduling) but couldn't they have shown the NE ep from Miami? lol

My Dallas run was one of the ones featured on the monitor during the break, literally just minutes after I had my Baltimore run ;-) Course wetness was a non-issue in Baltimore fortunately. It was pretty f***ing cold later at night though, near freezing.
