Here are some stats for the newest tournament:
*This is the fourth tournament in which no All-Stars cleared Stage 1 (the others were 19, 22, and 26).
*This is the third tournament in which none of the final 10 competitors cleared Stage 1 (the others were 19 and 22).
*Since SASUKE began in 1997, 2012 is the first calendar year in which no All-Stars cleared Stage 1.
*For the first time since SASUKE 19, no foreigners cleared Stage 1.
*For the first time since SASUKE 21, no foreigners cleared Stage 2.
*Before this tournament, only 1 STQer had ever failed a version of the Cliffhanger (Hashimoto failed the UCH in 25). After this tournament, this number has quadrupled due to Asa, Yuuji, and Kanno's failures on the CCH.
*For the first time since SASUKE 22, less than 10 people cleared Stage 1.
*Despite only 5 competitors clearing Stage 1, 3 of them set records for how far their starting position numbers went (details below).
*When Someya Koki cleared Stage 1 wearing #44, he became the first person in the history of SASUKE to clear Stage 1 with that number.
*Furthermore, with Someya's clear, every number from #38 to #100 has cleared Stage 1 at least once; overall, only 11 numbers are yet to do so (#4, #8, #12, #15, #16, #21, #26, #27, #33, #36, and #37).
*Asa Kazuma became only the second #58 to clear Stage 1 (Asaoka Hiroyuki cleared Stage 1 wearing this number in SASUKE 11) and the first #58 to ever clear Stage 2.
*Despite wearing a very high number, Urushihara became only the second #88 to reach Stage 3 (Yamaguchi Kosuke reached Stage 3 in SASUKE 14, failing the Rumbling Dice).

This is the first time Yamada has timed out on the wall two tournaments in a row. This is the first time Shingo failed the same first stage obstacle twice in a row. This is Takeda's worst performance ever This is the second time Kanno has passed the first stage with #89. Isn't he the only one? I knew about the first two ones already

Someone timed out on the 2nd Stage for the first time since SASUKE 21
3 consecutive clears in the 80's happened for the 2nd time. The last time was SASUKE 14, and was also 87, 88 and 89

This is the fourth tournament to end in the 3rd stage after kanzenseiha was achieved in the previous tournament. (The others were 5, 18, and 25)
This is also the third tournament to end at the cliffhanger after kanzenseiha was achieved in the previous tournament. (18/25)

Since Nagano's kanzenseiha in 17, there have been 11 tournaments. 5 of those tournaments have ended at the Cliffhanger. 4 had finalists. 1 ended in the 2nd stage and 1 ended at the final obstacle of the 3rd Stage. (From 1-17, 10 had finalists, 5 ended on the last obstacle of the 3rd stage, and 2 ended on the 2nd to last obstacle in the 3rd stage)
6 tournaments have ended without the Cliffhanger being beaten. From 4-17, the Cliffhanger was beaten at least once in every tournament.
This tournament ended at the second shortest point in history (3rd stage, 3rd obstacle). 18,20,25,26 all ended on 3rd stage, 4th obstacle.

In terms of obstacle length, this is the shortest Third Stage since SASUKE 13, which ironically had the Rumbling Dice, Cliffhanger, Curtain Cling, and Pipe Slider.

This is the first time Yuuji Urushihara has failed the Third Stage. This is the first time Ryo Matachi has failed the Second Stage. And it's also the first time Asa Kazuma passed Stage 2 and the first time Someya Koki passed the first stage and first time he failed the second stage, and was the first person to fail the Swap Salmon Ladder... But we're trying to go for the more detailed info, not the blatently obvious ones (I realize the irony of this post pointing out more of those )

This is the first time Kanno has actually failed and not DQ'd the 3rd Stage.

It's worth reiterating...
SASUKE Maniacs
Anyway, one that Yam will like...Kuramochi is 5/13 on the first obstacle of Stage 1 after his Godantobi fail. He has never cleared the Godantobi, but has beaten the Rokudantobi 3 times.

Kazuma Asa (21-1, 27-2, 28-3) failed three different stages in his first three attempts. Others to do so: Yamamoto Yoshihito (1-3, 2-2, 3-1) Yamamoto Shingo (1-2, 2-3, 3-4) Takeda Toshihiro (5-2, 6-3, 7-1) Bunpei Shiratori (9-1, 11-2, 12-4) Levi Meeuwenberg (20-3, 21-2, 22-1) Hitoshi Kanno (20-1, 22-3, 23-4) Yuuji Urushihara (21-1, 22-4, 23-2) Naoya Tajima (23-2, 24-3, 25-1)
I think I might be forgetting a few more.

I just noticed something: Kanno's attempt of the Crazy Cliffhanger marked the 100th time ever on Sasuke that a competitor attempted a version of the Cliffhanger. That averages out to exactly 4 people attempting the Cliffhanger per tournament from Sasuke 4 to Sasuke 28.

It is the 4th time Takeda has failed the 2nd obstacle (of any stage) right after a course renewal.

With Akiyama wearing #96, #96 has become the ONLY start position that EVERY single All-Star has worn at least once! Who do you think will wear #96 in Sasuke 29?
Tournaments w/All-Star #96: Takeda - 7, 15, 19 Yamamoto - 6, 12, 24 Nagano - 11, 18 Shiratori - 14, 16 Yamada - 21 AKIYAMA - 28!!!
So that's 12 out of 28 tournaments in which an All-Star was #96! That's about 43%!!!

Not as much a stat, or even specifically about RISING but an interesting observation I just noticed... After post Kanzen Seiha tournaments, Stage 2 only gets overhauled every other win...
5: Only had the first 2 obstacles changed/modified (this detail also applies to 6 and 7 even though they're not directly after a Kanzen Seiha) 18: Completely redesigned Stage 2 25: Only first two obstacles changed/modified RISING: Completely redesigned Stage 2
