Does Sasuke do drug tests like before or after a stage, or is everyone on their honnor?

I seriously doubt it, since it takes long enough just to register everyone.
I'm no expert on performance enhancing drugs, but I doubt steroids would help very much with Sasuke.

Theres not even a liability waiver and trust you're not going to sue if you get injured (and no one has sued). You really think they'd take the time to make everyone take a piss before their run?
And if you ask me, getting bulkier sounds like it'd hurt you on the course more than it would help, especially your weight in stages 2 and 3.

but what im getting at is stamina, stuff like HGH will increase your muscle endurance and youll recover faster so you can have energy for stage 2 3 4

By that logic, they would have to ban Red Bull and Mountain Dew. There are plenty of ways to get your energy and stamina back up for the next stage that aren't illegal.

Last time I checked Caffine was legal though.
And you do realize HGH stands for Human Growth Hormone. Like I said, being bulky will hurt you on the course.
And I'm pretty sure I saw Mountain Dew in that cooler at Sasuke they showed during that ANC3 Pre-Show thing when they were showing behind the scenes.

Sasuke isn't a professional sport though, so would it actually be against the rules to take drugs that are banned in other sports? (As far as I'm aware, HGH isn't illegal, it's just a banned substance in sport. I took HGH when I was in primary school because I was small and weak, and I didn't get police knocking on my door). I can't imagine one would be disqualified from Sasuke for taking such substances.
And as what other people have said, it's questionable whether such substances would help. I'd imagine that some people might benefit, e.g. Yasuo Aoki.

Professional or not, the producers would probably want to keep the competition as honest as possible. And besides, part of the appeal of Sasuke is how difficult it is and how much ability is needed just to clear the first stage. If some guy shows up juiced to the hilt and crushes the course, how fair is that to everyone who is struggling and now has to deal with a redesigned course?
And no amount of steroids is gonna help Aoki. He needs to eat something first.

nothing can help Aoki pass stage 1, obstacle 1, now, not even food. But, it's not a sport, however, I would think that they tested Nagano for steroids when he won. Maybe Akiyama too, but I doubt it.

nothing would help him pass it ever, even when he was #79

Not to make a political statement but.. a Japanese game show company won't be thinking of something like this.. only Americans who are litigation happy would think of this. Heck.. it's been pointed out they don't do injury waivers.. something that is very prevalent here.. they just don't have that sort of thing in Japan for something that is not professional. This is supposed to be for fun..
As for Aoki.. he needs a food intervention LOL

I just thought of something, HGH is not actually a illegal substance. It is only illegal when not perscribed by a doctor. That's why gazza could take it and it would be legal.

I think that part of being an athelete, most leagues have drug testing. (But, we know Shane and Bryan are clean because Shane never failed MLB's drug tests and Clay had to take one after his gold in the olympics.)

Thanks for mentioning this, I actually didn't realise it was illegal unless it is prescribed. I only assumed it was legal because years ago I was prescribed it for my medical condition. So I guess HGH is a bad example, because there are other drugs that are legal over-the-counter, but are banned in some sports. But then, don't different sports have different sets of banned drugs? I definitely agree with Arsenette, they just wouldn't bother because it isn't a professional sport. With the Olympics, some athletes think that it's worth the risk and potential side effects to do drugs because of the fame, money, and endorsements that could arise from winning. But Sasuke, well..... the fame, money and endorsements just aren't on the same level. It's not worth artificially altering your body over.

Well, I don't think anyone is really doing Sasuke for the financial benefit nor do I think Japan is really the place where you'll find people doing performance drugs to get ahead. I would imagine the producers would invite anyone to challenge the Sasuke - even if they knew someone was drugged up! You need more than some performance drugs to get through it! You need a huge set of... Well, I'm sure you know.
