*is watching* *gets 7 minutes in before saying f*** it and starts skipping ahead* *actually at Midoriyama and at the signups* Host said 6 people... Is he counting Kunoichi as well or something? (That would be the right number... chronologically: Akiyama, Miyake, Nagano, Komiya, Kadoi and Yuuji)
*hasn't finished watching*

I facepalmed at the 6 winners.. though they mixed 2 events.. and that host.. gah. I would have preferred the other guy sadly..

And who can forget such legendary champions like nuhGAno and Urooshiharo...
And yeah... He was just bad... upon seeing that ep (ok 7 minutes before I said f*** it and skipped to Midoriyama which is all I really watched in full), my god it was horrible... Upon hearing him dubbing over runs I thought "Oh god I feel so sorry for Singapore... This guy makes Matt and Jonny (or Jimmy) seem like Furutachi and Keisuke in comparison..."

I thought the same thing.. at least with Matt and Jonny they were commenting AS the runs were going.. not after the fact.. I think this guy's name is Mike Casem and he wasted the opportunity to seem somewhat interested by talking over the course right as they failed.. knowing they failed so there was zero emotion. And yes.. don't get me started with the pronunciations.. at this late in the game (28 tourneys) there's zero excuse for mispronunciations. This show is hardly new.

Even if the audio was recorded after the fact, it was still terrible (But yes I agree that the commentating should have been done live), I mean has this guy never met an actor in his life? Couldn't he at least have been taught... He didn't even seem like he was trying to show any emotion, fake or otherwise...
And yeah... I don't get how he could f*** up the pronunciation that badly... To make matters worse... HE WAS THERE... How can you be there the whole day and not hear the announcer... Even if you don't know the language you should still be able to pick out a name at the start line...

Even if you don't know the language you should still be able to pick out a name at the start line... I found it even worse that the host had to ask them if it was Nagano. I didn't except him to know much about Nagano, but I was hoping he'd at least be able to recognize him. Besides the poor commentary by the host, I also skipped through to the segment where they're at Sasuke Rising. The rest of the show could've been a lot more enthralling than it was. Hopefully they learn from their mistakes next time around.

Yeah, that was super bad... I mean you're involved with a project... Shouldn't you at least learn a bit about it before starting... He should have known who Nagano was before ep 1 of Sasuke Singapore recorded... And yeah... They could have been much better with that broadcast, especially giving more detail on everything... hell, I wouldn't have minded if it was a Sasuke Singapore recap ep... Hell, they could have at least shown Cat's run (although I guess they didn't want to show that to avoid showing that Malaysia's rep beat both Singapore reps and were going with the angle of how many fails there were to make their guys look better through the angle of almost everyone else sucked too ). Only part I saw besides the 7 minutes before I said f**k it and the actually at Midoriyama parts were the parts at the Ninja restaurant, yeah I know G4 already went there but that place is cool, luckily for me that ended up being when Alan found out he was running too so that worked out I guess EDIT: BTW, was anyone else feeling awkward when they used mostly G4 style names but used one of the japanese names... Something just feels off about talking about the Jump Hang Kai and then the Double Warped Wall...

It's good to know that Gundam is still out there in Japan.

No, nothing to do with Sasuke except at the end of the Sasuke Singapore season 2 episode 7 there was a shot with Gundam statue behind the host. It was kind of noteworthy news to make the statue back then, and I followed that news for a while. It was planned to display the statue for a limited time, then the exhibit was prolonged, and then another municipal contractor? made a similar one?... since then, I haven't heard or haven't paid attention to the statue's news. Gundam (the original one) is the most nostalgic anime for me. (I'm old and old school. ^^

Actually it's back in Odaiba again after about a 3 year hiatus. Seems people were clamoring for it. I want to see it too!

Wow, time flies. So three year hiatus means when the big earthquake (and the tsunami) hit Japan, the statue was not there? If it's there at that time, it might have fallen over. Lucky robot!

Lucky robot! aahahah no It was only up for a short time in the beginning then moved to another location (Shizuoka iirc) and then the people in Odaiba complained people kept getting requests for it back. They brought it back to Odaiba but at a slightly different location on the island. Iirc it is going to be a semi-permanent feature. Seems people now call it the Odaiba Gundam

Got it. I thought that the statue at Shizuoka was another one built after the original. My memory failed me. ^^;; Shizuoka-shi is far enough to be safe from that earthquake. In any case, he was lucky. Seems like that the new place the staue placed has a lot to look aorund. The entertainment space called "Gundam Front Tokyo" is there just behind the statue inside Diver City Tokyo. I wanna go there too! weekly.ascii.jp/elem/000/000/084/84394/
