"Rock Climbers, Parkour, Gymnasts, Crossfit, Circus performers. and martial artists have typically done the best."
I'm pretty sure he is referring to the Muscle Musical members, many of whom were national or international level gymnasts.
"It's you are a ninja warrior history buff. I hope you tune in this year because i have a feeling there will be a champion crowned. "
Ummm.....
"This show was one of the highest rate programs on NBC last year so i'm sure it will be around by the time you're 21."
Highest rated on the lowest of the big four!
"We are building the exact Midoriyama in Vegas this year. "
Points for not saying Mount Midoriyama.
Someone also brings up the M9 bankruptcy. His answer:
"G4 and NBC are doing the show now"
Which could be interpreted by some as "No one is going to Japan this year." Your mileage may vary.
"The qualifier course will be very similar to last years, which you can probably find on youtube. There may be one or two altercations. Courses beyond that we cannot reveal. "
Altercations? So after the qualifiers people will actually have to do battle on the Ninja Warrior course! (I know he meant alterations).

Well that at least confirms (even though we pretty much already knew) it will be a legit recreation of Midoriyama.

"Yah the problem with active athletes is that their team would not allow them to run the course. We are actually trying to get TO."
TO is Terrell Owens. I'm not sure if that would be a good or bad idea.

The only thing i'm worried about is "the exact Midoriyama", as for health and safety reasons surely one obstacle from stage 1 in Sasuke 27 has to be changed which affected an American.

I'm not sure if that would be a good or bad idea. He also said: "We are doing things a little different. There may still be a small gimmick factor involved in very few competitors but everyone we cast has a legitimate shot at at least completing the qualifier course." Oh, and he did remark that they wanted former pro athletes so i suppose they want some star quality with famous sportsmen - which is a great idea. "Some random dude from California is better than ..."No way!"

The problem with bringing in famous people is that it would only benefit everyone involved if they were able to go straight to the final 100 ala SASUKE and not go through trials.
A lower tier ex-pro like some guy who had a memorable NCAAs run but a bad pro career would be OK to put through the regionals but someone like TO would have to go to the main course for anyone to care and not treat it like a joke.
It's good that they are looking for legit people to distance themselves from Wipeout because reality shows based around real people is a big thing in America. It would never fly in Japan (see: SASUKE 25) because the Japanese viewing public loves them some comedians and talentos.

I crack up at the last question where someone asked if they are going to not show it on G4 so more than 8 people can see it..

[Regarding the 21+ entry cutoff] "I believe the reasons were insurance related. Kind of a stupid rule."
Even the casting associate finds the rule stupid.

(Sorry for double post) Drew's injury was just a freak accident. Injuries have happened on the course before (it's not even foreign to ANW anyways, Paul Darnell sprained his foot when failing the HPA and that was with the soft pad). I mean if they add padding to that block, would be great, but whose to say it'll be a direct copy of 27? It's not even built yet.

He said the Qualifying course would be the same as last year, with some minor alterations. Hopefully the Quad Steps aren't slippery.

That's the qualifying course, we're talking about the vegas course I asked about Vegas, he said it will be exactly the same as last year. Now the real question is does he mean the obstacles that are there or does he mean they're shipping 27's course to vegas, hopefully the latter

According to Matt, there should be extra footage than what's on TV for Finals. NW format airing (obvious, but I asked anyway).
