Well, it's official! Smith and Co. just started making the rounds, calling past course successors. ANW4 is official, but that is *all* they confirmed. Nothing yet about Japan or the like, so please keep that talk down.
Not even dates for submission have been announced, which is good. I mean, this is my first rodeo of being called back, so I'm not personally sure if this is early compared to ANW 1 & 2.
So... just take it as a form of grace, and get your videos ready now!

copy and paste from G4boards: Cool keep us updated. I saw someone on the NWFB yesterday saying the emails were going out. I expect the entrants this year will be almost exclusively application only given that each tourney attracts more and more people. So get those videos workin'.
The only thing I heard on the Japan-side just today was that there is no Spring Sasuke. So that helps ANW if it's pushed back to the summer just like last year. Also helps Sasuke Malaysia who's already scheduled to take place in May (again.. just like last year).

I wonder if G4 is going to make official announcement in TV (like Attack of the Show), in proximity of NW 27. Maybe G4 is going to make announcement during commercial of NW 27, or day before. I wonder if it going to be stand-alone event, where SASUKE is not involved.
If SASUKE (28) is involved (rumors that SASUKE changed IP from M9 to TBS), my biggest fear is that Comcast is going to separate NW (28) and ANW (4) again causing confusion among casual/hardcore SASUKE fan. If that happens then rest of the world will miss THREE CONSECUTIVE (four total including 23) tournaments (26,27, and 28), but that another topic altogether.

Well I guess this sort of counts as good news... I mean we're getting something... I can't help but wonder abyt sasuke ties, and if a miracle happens and TBS runs Sasuke on their own I'm interested to see how that will play out...

LOL imagine if g4 has the rights to sasuke now. HAHAHAHA that would make my day. I already asked.. it's a Japanese company that has it.. trust me.. it crossed my mind P.S. I doubt ANW will change in format.. I gave up on that hope a loooooong time ago. We'll see what happens from this point forward. My guess is that it's coming summertime or late spring (meaning ANW4). Sasuke might be same time last year if they can get organized. Still good news though with Sasuke Malaysia already set for late May.

I don't expect a change of format... In the event SAsuke ends the only change I Can see is the top 10 go to a course set up like sasuke sort of but the rest is the same

I'll say it for the umpteenth time.. there's no way to verify what I was told since they have not gone public. Even the initial tweets that told me the information have been taken down because people kept badgering her for information. I posted that on my blog as well that we are on standby mode and all of this is rumor. Is it positive information that is rumor? Yes.. but that doesn't verify it. We have to wait. The only thing I'm taking as fact is that there is no Spring Sasuke since it was the Sasuke 27 finalist that said it today. Everything else we have to wait and see until there's an official announcement. With that already established, the same person that assured me that Sasuke was not changing formats (since that was also a question) simply because the entire crew that made Sasuke so far is the same one that's reforming and it was most certainly Japanese. I doubt G4 has that kind of money anyway and better use of money to concentrate on making ANW better for their own sake but that's another subject entirely

And for the tl;dr version, We don't know, all we know is m9 is bankrupt, we don't know anything about Sasuke rights at the moment.

Well, I'll be old enough (I'll turn 21 in a few weeks), but I can't afford to go out to California, and I would probably be in school if it's done in late August (last semester, wooo!), and even if it's done earlier in August, I doubt I'd make it through anyway. My balance and coordination aren't very good. If I got on ANW, I probably wouldn't make it past the first few obstacles on their course, much less make it through bootcamp.

Ugh. I keep forgetting about that.. Still think it would be friggin' awesome to have a "junior" version.. damn lawyers.. Yeah... You'd think they'd realize how many good competitors there are who are over 18 but not quite 21... They should give that group a chance by doing that trial and the winner is allowed to try out at the main ANW, it's stupid but for G4 it seems likely if they would actually do something for the under 21 group...

It still being 21 is a little ridiculous, considering its completely in the US now... unless the goal here is to do some shots before each stage.
And as for entry videos, I worked like crazy the last 3 days to film and edit mine, finally sent it in! I'm done with G4's stupid scheduling and I'm going to ANW4 for sure.
Looks like I'm one of the first to finish their ANW4 video though so far, so here it is for now(until theres an official entry video thread):

Nice, although I'm wondering if G4 is uptight about the 5:00 limit.

Nice, although I'm wondering if G4 is uptight about the 5:00 limit. .. actually they are.. and they seem to be pissy about the music this year too.. There's a discussion in the G4 boards about it..

The run time and music could be issues. I just changed my music and resubmitted, just to be safe.
