So far only Jordan Jovtchev is the only person who is definitely in since most qualifying events will be held in the spring.
Wrestlers Henry Cejudo and Tomohiro Matsunaga are making attempts for 2012.
Daisuke Miyazaki and the Japan handball team have to make it through the qualifying rounds to get to London. Had they won the Asian championship they would have been in but they came in second and so have to go through several world ranked teams to make it.
Shunsuke Nagasaki has regained his place among the best in Japanese trampolining - he came in third and second in the singles and synchro respectively at the Japan Nationals at the end of 2011 and is still in the hunt for London.
Not from SASUKE but former Pro Sportsman No. 1 competitor Bryan Clay is also aiming to go to London.

For those wondering, Paul ANTHONY Terek retired in 2010. Actually I was. I figured after the last surgery he was pretty much done. Thanks for the confirmation. I also figured that this list will be ongoing for the next few months as only now the lower tiered countries are qualifying their single slots for the last places in the Olympic Pool while the already qualified countries won't get their athletes picked for their already predetermined slots until almost a month or so closer to the Olys.

Is there any other major SASUKE competitor we should be on the lookout for in the coming Olympics? Or any sports that we should be keeping track of?

Wrestler Kouhei Hasegawa, who was in SASUKE 27 will also be trying to get a spot on the national team.

Wrestling trials are done at the continental level, and don't start until March.

I think all these people have a good chance at making it to the London olympics. And I'm pretty sure all of them that make it will do good.

any updates? aren't olympic trials going on? Hmm. In general Olympic Trials for countries who already have their spots guaranteed (but are picking which individuals to comprise final team) don't start until June/July iirc. I know Gymnastics and Swimming are July but am unsure of the other sports. Someone like Jordan had to qualify his country for the remaining spots not already claimed (usually those are claimed by the previous world Championships) so in essence it was a wildcard spot. By virtue of winning the spot they usually individually qualify themselves. The ones from more established countries (like Japan) have their spots but have to wait until a month before to name the final team.

The Japanese trampoline team makes its Olympic selection this weekend. The rules are confusing, but I'm pretty sure Masaki Ito already qualified due to his medal at the world championships. Japan is eligible to send TWO athletes total because of the national team's finish at the world championships. It's too bad the trampoline team is limited to only two: I'd like to see both Ueyama and Sotomura get another crack at the Olympics. Ueyama is SO much better than his last Olympic performance, and Sotomura came *this* close to a medal in the last Olympics. I think it'll be Ueyama, though.

It would open things up more if they would add synchro for trampoline.
Kouhei Hasegawa, from SASUKE 27, is in. Tomohiro Matsunaga did not make it in.
Saori Yoshida, who was in KUNOICHI 4, is in. She hasn't been defeated in 157 matches and is going for a third Olympic gold.
Koji Murofushi, who memorably battled Kane Kosugi during Pro Sportsman No. 1, is going for a another medal in the Hammer Throw.
The Japan Men's Handball Team, and thus by extension Daisuke Miyazaki, failed to qualify for London.

Wow, surprised to see Japan miss the handball qualification. Has Nakata retired from trampoline events? Also, where has Nagasaki been on this?

Wow, surprised to see Japan miss the handball qualification. Has Nakata retired from trampoline events? Also, where has Nagasaki been on this? Nakata had retired for a while from Gymnastics after that horrible hit and run a few years ago that fubarred his hands forever. He did try making a comeback but ended up at the bottom Shun has been doing well of late and actually was a medalist at Nationals but am unsure of how they chose their representatives. Japan is known for having a strict Olys qualification process involving results from the past 1-2 years and Shun has not been at the top on those. Snowy has been keeping up with it so hopefully by next week we will find out

The thing about men's trampoline in Japan is that the team is so deep. They've got one or two guys who pretty much stand out from the rest, and another four or five guys who can not only beat each other on any given day, but can even beat the top guys on a really good day. They'd probably be #1 or #2 in most other countries. When you add in the fact that it's very easy to screw up a trampoline pass of just 10 jumps, and screwing up at the wrong competition can shut you out for a year or more...
Anyway, we'll find out this weekend.

According to the latest edition of sports illustrated, Henry Cejudo failed to qualify for the Olympics, then left his shoes on the mat (generally an act symbolizing retirement).
Also, all signs point to Bryan Clay qualifying for London(twitter feeds and nbc hyping him). Also, he's got a badass video of himself on his official website.

Checked the IAAF's website again. No, Bryan Clay has not yet qualified for the Olympics. Although, for every year(save for this one), he has gotten at the A Standard of qualification. The US can have 1 more athlete at the A Standard. So it will certainly be interesting. Also, the Japanese handball team came in second for the Asian qualifying tournament...sending them to the worldwide qualifier, which they were 1 game from 2nd. So, unfortunately, the Japanese handball team will NOT qualify for the Olympics. Wrestler Kouhei Hasegawa, who was in SASUKE 27 will also be trying to get a spot on the national team. What he couldn't do in SASUKE...STAGE ONE CLEAR! He did in fact qualify at the Asian Championships for Greco-Roman 55kg.
