I think Akiyama is slightly faster but Yuuji would be better at long distance climbs. Akiyama looked faster for the first 10-15m, so I voted him. Also, Yuuji started by standing up but Akiyama sat down. Both climbs were masterclasses, though.
Who do you think/who was faster?

I have to say Yuuji, he reached the 15m point at about 21.5 seconds while Akiyama reached the 15m point at about 24 seconds.

You also have to account that Yuuji started standing up though.

I think you should also take into account that Akiyama was preparing to hit the button at 15m while Yuuji was carrying on climbing. I think it's more valid to look for their times/positions at 10m, instead.

Okay, so I have been reviewing the tapes, and it seems Akiyama past the 10m mark in about 17.2 seconds, compared to Urushihara's time of 17.4 seconds past 10m, so my opinion has changed.

Isn't it possible that Yuuji went slower than his max speed knowing that the climb was long? Akiyama's climb was shorter so maybe he went all out from the start.

Yuuji also had a much more difficult course than Akiyama had to deal with(even if he did kind of destroy it) so I have to say Yuuji.

Akiyama. He blasted out of nowhere while everyone expect Yamada at that moment to get revenge.

WTF are you two talking about? This is just about rope climbs, not overall wins...

I have to say Yuuji, he reached the 15m point at about 21.5 seconds while Akiyama reached the 15m point at about 24 seconds. That's why I went with Yuuji too. He went that fast and climbed even further. Akiyama is the STRONGER climber, but I think Yuuji is the faster of the two.

I have not and will not select who was better. Their climbs were virtually identical. Akiyama was a tiny bit faster; Yuuji had more to climb. I really wish there was an option for "they were equal"

Overall, you can't really judge who is the faster climber on there two rope climbs.
