To add to the conversation I do hope that someone in America/Malaysia picks this up in some way. Those obstacles have to go somewhere, you know (like the pro sportsman set). And if not there are SO many avid fans of the show that I wouldn't be surprised to see entire course replicas one day, with people being invited to compete. Actually feel free to discuss that part on the other thread (implications) on the 27 board because it does have merit. I personally have no problems with spin offs.. but I'd be damned if someone tries to do "Sasuke" as if they can do it. So far ANW hasn't even gotten close to replicating Sasuke (100 people, 4 stages, 1 day) but SM has gotten close in doing that by actually having TBS build their obstacles even if it was a 2 stage course. Anyway.. on that thread and not this one. As we get closer to the December deadline we might get more indication of what's going on and definitely by March when they finally meet to discuss options and whatnot. Until then I doubt we will hear anything about Sasuke 28's ultimate fate. Ya'll know I've been watching this implode for a couple years now and I'm not very hopeful given their history so far.. but we'll see until they actually address it (either TBS or M9).

How come I nearly get banned for putting a non-explicit 27 spoiler in spoiler tags yet people are putting major spoilers (pictures even) and not getting in any trouble? I thought there were no 27 spoilers in the general board... oops, sorry. I deleted the post already.

If someone is dumb enough to open a tag that says SPOILER on it, they deserve it...

If someone is dumb enough to open a tag that says SPOILER on it, they deserve it... But it explicitly says in the rules that spoilers for a recent tournament shall not be anywhere other than it's designated board, even if it's in spoiler tags. This hasn't just happened in this topic, some of the topics are riddled with 27 spoilers. I just happen to be the only one who got 25% warning for it. And I didnt even post a spoiler. EDIT: just to be clear I mean no harm to anyone (sorry if it came out that way RemixedAnime). I just feel like I'm constantly attacked because of my high warning bar, which seems to only be a result of something ES-13 did and something other people do all the time but don't get in trouble for.

Wow, this is not something I wanted to hear today. I can only hope for the best, even if it is just a sliver.

What are the chances someone sued the crap out of them? $46m is a lot of money to suddenly come out of nowhere.

While entirely possible I'm sure that would have been in the articles as to the reason for the debt. Also.. this didn't "come out of nowhere"... those who did any research on the company knew for a few years now that things were not doing well financially. They also did a lot of failed ventures including building 2 facilities at the tune of several million (US) each. They've also canceled/stopped airing shows that might have brought them additional revenue. All in all the reason for their debt was due to bad investing, shady accounting and lack of diversification.

As some articles state, as recently as 2010 they were making around the 3 billion yen mark so the number they owe is not that outrageous. Plus, if they had been window dressing for a long time, the debt just keeps building up and up.

So they made the same money they owe. Why did they bother making 27 and not bother waiting for any money to come in? If they were planning for it to be the last, they should've announced it as so and invited certain people back.

If they were planning for it to be the last, they should've announced it as so and invited certain people back. Well you're missing a couple of factors, they owe more than their total earnings since the company came into existence, so that means (converted, it'd be in yen) for every dollar they make, they lose two... So they didn't "make the amount they owe", They lost twice as much as they've ever made... As for 27 being the last one, You got to consider this was filmed back in what, july? and aired in october, now M9 just filed for bankruptcy recently and like has been said before, they've been trying to hide their debt problems, so they were just going to try to sweep everything under the rug and just keep going, but they realized they just couldn't do that... Although with the way they were trying to set up good results I'm sure they knew that it might have been the end bu still were holding out hope so they didn't want to say anything about the end

Considering also that in the past year crap just about hit the fan not just for M9 but for Japan in general. March people keep forgetting was a huge month in Japan that affected all sorts of economic ventures. Entertainment industry is the first to go south when you have to decide between "necessities". They also got hit with the surprise that was the Muscle Musical Shibuya Theater being forced to shut down all summer.. Just like Ube said.. this has been going on for a while. I wouldn't be surprised that a lot of ventures they were hoping to come through (and didn't) coupled with the fact that economy is in the tank.. and they were already in the red and trying to hide it.. something's gotta give! As for 27.. they promised 2 overseas markets there was going to be one and those markets invested in it (Malaysia and of course the USA). I assume they expected to get a lot more capital from those ventures but that didn't pan out. Malaysia has yet to AIR their event and we know what happened with ANW's disappointing showing on US television. Then MM out of Vegas as well.. yeah.. Both Fanclubs failing to meet expectation (including the USA one that no one paid for) this has not been a good year for M9.

List of known M9 creditors. I don't think the list is complete because they have until December to file. n-seikei.jp/2011/11/post-3322.htmlAll numbers are in the 10,000s. There are several banks on the list plus construction and supply companies. Yoshimoto Creative is also on there, which is interesting (it's the production arm of the Yoshimoto Kogyo, the biggest agent of comedians in Japan).

Interesting.. Thanks for the list. We know TBS will be up there at some point unless they are listed below a certain amount and like you said.. they still have until December to file. Appreciate it!
P.S. Update on the company who bought the license.. it's Japanese.. so the TBS still holding.. no official word but seems there will be an announcement at some point. I asked when it will be or is expected. I'll post if I hear anything.

Mitsubishi UFJ Bank (don't know rest of the kanji), the largest bank in Japan, is their top creditor?
I at least know the amounts are in thousands of yen... this is still a shocker.

Creditor means who is owed money. It's not that surprising that they would owe a bank (or in this case, several banks) money.

It's not an updated list. It's a new list for Digital 9. The one previously posted is for Monster 9.

I noticed that the Facebook fan pages for the all stars and new stars have recently been modified to say "Operated by Very Life Inc." in their descriptions, with "info@verylife.co.jp" as their contact email. Does this pose any implications to new ownership? I couldn't find any other info on a company called Very Life Inc. on the web.
