What was it that made you love Sasuke so much? The competitors? A desire to compete in it? Any specific tournament? The announcers? Joke competitors? Nagano's good looks??
Did you fall in love with Sasuke the first time you saw it, or did it take a while?
(Sorry in advance if this topic has already been discussed somewhere.)

It immediately gave me a Legends of the Hidden Temple feel with the whole timed obstacle course thing going on and thinking it was the most amazing thing in life. Helps that nothing was on TV at the time except that, so I turned to it, hooked ever since. That same day I first saw Ninja Warrior I was trying to do the Cliffhanger off of door ledges lol.

Replace Ninja Warrior with Viking. Then I searched Nagano's Wikipedia profile and the rest is history.

I just loved the whole "obstacle course" feel. It reminded me of the old 2D sidescrolling Mario games. Then I looked it up on Wikipedia. (This was in 2007.)

Unfortunately, G4's poor advertisements for the show had me confused as to what the show was even about.
When I did tune in for the first time, I knew it was up my alley.

My brother told me about it. I switched over to it and there was a marathon of it so I ended watching a majority of the tournaments in 1 sitting.

just on the tv guide and seen ninja warrior was on and a thought i would see what it was all about, it was the combination of stuart hall and the pure funny fall off the rolling log that got me hooked

I don't know really. Never really liked obstacle courses before this one... I just watched it on G4 once, liked it, loved it, than changed my life for it.

I just saw it On Demand, I was curious and watched it. I can't believe what I was missing.

For me, it was kind of a "how in the world did he just do that?!" feeling that got me interested. When I first saw it, I was pretty out of shape. I could only do one pullup haha. So it definitely helped inspire me to get a bit more active. So I think that's what got me interested.

My husband was flipping channels one day and stopped on G4. I just got hooked watching these people trying to beat the obstacle course. I liked that it was a more serious version of Takeshi's Castle (MXC).

The obstacles and the competitor's passion.

I saw Nagano on Viking on Eurosport one day. It motivated me to train hard again. Before that I was slacking off. After that , i looked up all i could find on Nagano and Sasuke. In the last 2 years , I've gained about 10kg (20lb) of muscle and I'm in the best shape I've ever been. Much better than when I was 21 (when I did free fight) I have my goal set as Sasuke 30. If it's still on then.

Nothing else like it on TV. Remembered watching it years ago and not knowing what it was, but then I started watching G4 broadcasts. I didn't know it was made by the same people that were responsible for Takeshi's Castle.
