And I'm talking about the name "Mr. Sasuke/Ninja Warrior."
It's Katsumi Yamada's nickname, and as you know he hasn't cleared the First Stage since SASUKE 12 and is on a 12 Tournament First Stage losing streak.
If you remember from SASUKE 23, Makoto Nagano's first First Stage run was cut short due to the Slider Jump's rope getting caught on the framework of the obstacle structure. He got to run again and actually cleared the first stage and that's when the announcer said (it was dubbed, but it was probably what he said), "Makoto Nagano is the new Mr. Sasuke!"
In SASUKE 24, the following tournament, he ended up failing the Jumping Spider.
In SASUKE 25, he failed the Circle Slider.
In SASUKE 26, he failed the Jumping Spider again.
Now it might just be me thinking this, but I'm noticing a pattern here. Maybe it's just bad luck. Maybe it's the changes added to old obstacles. It can't be old age though, he's not that old and has a few good years left in him when challenging the course. But with the recent tournament results, it looks like the name "Mr. SASUKE/Ninja Warrior" is cursed.
Maybe it is, maybe it isn't, but I guess we'll see what happens in SASUKE 27.
