They've been in order lately so not sure what is confusing about that. If David is 98, then he at the very least went 3rd last. Yet none of the sideline guys are wearing coats/towels. I think even Paul is sitting with everyone Maybe they didn't have enough chairs? lol

The competitor before Paul Kasemir timed out at the Warped Wall. You can see it on the screen while he is getting ready.
Just a small cool thing I noticed.

minus.com/ldIysol73Okuyama who probably went 1 or maybe 2 before David, not wet, and no towel and Still wearing his number on his shorts. Hmmmm? Meh I dunno. Can we be sure that's him? Also would he really need a towel? From what I understand it was a warm night. I dunno if I can truly believe he beat a mostly untouched Third Stage... if he did he's my new favorite competitor! Also, he could've gotten DQ'd on a new obstacle... he wouldn't get wet then right?

BTW, just watched ANW3's last minutes on G4, and during the Stage 3 David interview, I heard something truly joyous in the background, Nagano's name! The annoucer was saying something in japanese and I heard Nagano's name in there, I think he was in Stage 3 and beat the UCH!

Humid summers are the rule in Japan. Unless one of the people who competed states otherwise, I'll assume that most people who are seen wearing towels have them because they'd rather not be standing or sitting around all sweaty.

Okay, even though we have not seen the rest of SASUKE 27, it already seems like a mixed bag to me.

The only audible part of what the announcer said was "Nagano Philster" and pictures already show that he was sitting on the sidelines, waiting for his turn. Whether or not he beat the UCH@is something we'll just have to wait for.

I didn't see him on the UCH and David was blocking my view of the latter half of the course.

Also just because we heard his name isn't proof he made it, how many times do you hear them talk about him when he didn't make it (Usually when Ogasawara is announcing). But the guy on the sidelines looks like Nagano and he is confirmed to have a number higher than #98 so who else would it be

Looks like he moved away form the spandex... thank god, never did well in it.

I'm still unsure wheater the seating order reflects the start numbers In recent past it has exactly. Helps producers also build tension and it has been working IMO Even given that we know most of the start numbers already from previous pics. That is definitely the order.

You know.. it didn't occur to me until you said it.. omg October can't get here fast enough... and yes I'm still freaking out over Ryo.. I can't wait to hear Yuuji's voice go supersonic when that boy passed the first stage.

I'm really curious why Yuuji is before Nagano. If you want to go by performance, Yuuji's done better in every tournament than Nagano since Yuuji's debut sans 21 and 23.

My guess would be Yuuji probably requested it. Or M9 decided to show little respect to Yuuji, as they did to akiyama, and give 100 to the star of the show
