For those of you who didn't bother to read it,
All ANW3 finals discussion belongs in its own thread that has been stickied at the top.
There is a zero tolerance for spoilers which includes implied spoilers.
Implied spoilers would be not directly spoiling something (such as making a topic called Levi's 3rd stage run) but making something that implies something (such as making a topic, the new Ultimate Cliffhanger, it implies someone got there)
I was reminded of and suggested a ban on creating new topics like what was done between ANW2 and Sasuke 26 until Sasuke 27 airs. I am not going to do this unless it becomes necssary. If i hear of new topics about ANW3 being created, I will have no choice but to delete them, warn/suspend the violators, and lock down topic creation.
So please remember everyone, just because you want to see the results and don't care if you get spoiled doesn't mean everyone else feels the same way.
This has now been posted twice in 2 different threads, so ignorance or inexperience will not be an excuse to save anyone if they slip up.
Thank you everyone for your cooperation.

The "weakest link" poll which was created earlier today which was created without either a descriptive name nor a spoiler tag clearly demonstrates that new topics cannot be allowed to be made after NBC airs ANW3's finals.
If you need a new thread or poll made, please send me a PM and if it is deemed acceptable, I'll make it for you.
Otherwise please use the general news and discussion threads for your posts as appropriate.
Thank you for your cooperation.

Clearly no one aside from the admins really control the chat (even if the unwritten rules are lax) I'm fairly confident some people will be in chat who haven't seen the spoiler-filled ANW3 Finals promo. There's been at least one person who intentionally did not look at the commercial even when it was shown live. Out of respect for those people and to keep issues at bay, if those who have seen the commercial NOT discuss it in chat until the Finals end tonight, it will be appreciated.

So when are we going to lift this? There would be alot more discussions if we didn't silence the whole thing. Why don't we just ban people who spoil... we figured this out during Sasuke 26, so I don't get why we can't do the same thing this time. Mod some people, make them "temp" mods for the next month until Sasuke 27 airs. Only Sheep and Scnoi are active mods, we need more of them.

What else could be discussed that couldn't be placed in another thread?

I would've posted something. I know a few others would've. If you give people the freedom to make topics, they will.

But if those topics can be properly relegated elsewhere no need to. Plus, it says in the post if you let Sheep review the topic beforehand and it's fine, he'll place it in the thread. It's bad enough we had to give out warning bars/ban already. This lessens the chance of people getting punished. Plus, we have a month until the rumored date with no commercial in sight yet.

I'm a fan of accountability and responsibility. If someone really can't keep their mouth shut, than I don't want them on this forum anyways... It doesn't really matter, I don't care to argue, it's just a suggestion. I want to make a topic, and I don't feel like going through Sheep. I'm sure other people are the same way.

This has been the only thing that worked in the past tournament given that we've been doing this now for about 3 years. You only need one new person to come in and not read a damn thing about the rules and spoil it for those who have been doing their best to not get spoiled especially when ANW is already aired. A small inconvenience is fine until TBS finally airs the damn thing anyway. Be angry with them for taking their time between airings.

As far as I'm concerned, ANW has nothing to do with SASUKE anyways. Perhaps we should have different forums for ANW and SASUKE. Of course some irresponsible person will come along and spoil it anyway. We wouldn't have this problem if it were the good ole days but I digress.

Yeah it's more geared towards the newbie that comes in and posts a new topic.
"ZOMGGGG I NO HOW ALL THE AMERICANS DID! [posts all results] I SAW IT ON NBC!! ISNT THAT KOOL???"
Yeah the person gets banned, but that doesn't help the people who just got spoiled.
But JP, for you and anyone else, just PM your topic, i'll make it for you.

You mean the good ole days were Rider spoiled sasuke 20 for half the forum? I don't know what you mean. There have ALWAYS been people spoiling the broadcasts. It hasn't really gotten worse or better. On one hand, we have stricter rules now. On the other hand, there are a lot more people then there were back then so it's a bit harder to control.

Is it possible for only certain people to make threads? Like well know/experienced users like bada, chief, tcm, rider, me, lars, arsenette ect... I'm pretty sure you can't do that without giving people at least a temporary mod status. If you give say ten people mod status all hell will break lose. For starters you'll get people asking why one person got chosen over another, and then you encounter the ten plus mods disagreeing about everything. It'd be complete chaos if that scenario was unleashed upon the forum.

Anyone can create a new topic.... You just have to PM me what you want created and what you want the 1st post to say.
What we are trying to avoid here is 3 or 4 threads on the same topic, SPAM, and discussion getting away from where its suppose to go.
So if you think theres a topic that needs to be made, then just let me know.

There never used to be spoilers because there never used to be ANW. The only spoilers would be the short trailer that TBS released a few weeks before hand and possibly a few photos of participants. Now, we have the ANW runs a month (or longer) before the actual air date of SASUke and well...you know how I feel about that.

Point taken. I know that's made it very difficult the last 2 Sasukes. The last time it was 2 weeks of pain as a mod (No I'm not one but I hear a lot) which made this rule work to begin with. There were a lot of people that saw it on G4 and came here as newbies just to spoil it for those waiting for the TBS airing just 2 weeks later. This one makes it harder since it's just under 2 months..

2 minutes until SASUKE 27, the restriction is now lifted. Enjoy the tournament, and please, post correctly.
