UPDATE: The intern running the facebook page screwed up. Carry on. I may have some good news for those between 18 and 21 years old who want to compete on ANW. Just recently, I found this post on the official Ninja Warrior Facebook page. Assuming the facebook guy didn't just eff up royally, it appears many of you will be able to enter ANW 4 when it happens. Now (hopefully) many deserving young people will get their shot at the course next time.

I hope this is legit and not just G4's fuckup...
If it is legit I hope it's tied to Sasuke 28 and 27 isn't the end...

I thought under-21s were allowed to run the course but weren't eligible to win?

I thought under-21s were allowed to run the course but weren't eligible to win? No, American Ninja Warrior is just a trials that they run, The only people allowed to run are competitors which they have to cut people from anyways, only non competitors to run were the special guests (Nagano, Yuuji and Okuyama). G4 set up Mini Courses for Ninjafest 4 and as a side event for ANW2 (Which wasn't as good as the NF4 one) but those weren't trial events and barely courses and not part of American Ninja Warrior itself

Like I said in chat, if this is real
1. I will drop down to the floor and do 500 pushups
2. I WILL be there. There's nothing that would stop me from being at ANW4 (Unless I die, that would probably stop me)

I'm going to up my workout tomorrow.
Even if this is fake, it's not worth waiting, tomorrow I'm going to wake up at 6 and get into a set routine.

Yea if this is real, I'd definitely be at the next ANW. But I'm not gonna get my hopes up.

The problem is G4's trashy ways. It's just to cover there butt. The whole age dilemma is part of a disclaimer; a waver. They just don't want people yelling at them because they were featured in a trashy ad campaign.

There's nothing that would stop me from being at ANW4 (Unless I die, that would probably stop me) What if you get an invite to the playboy mansion Sara Jean will be there. That should cover all bases. Here are the two scenarios: 1.)The 19 year old G4 intern making $6.50 an hour made a mistake. 2.) G4 is actually lowering the age limit.

They just don't want people yelling at them because they were featured in a trashy ad campaign. What ad campaign would that be? If you're awesome on ANW, you're in ANW commercials. The "T&A" if you are talking about that are 1-3 second shots during a big E3 (not as much), Comic-Con (in the middle) or the AEE (biggest exposure since its an adult expo ffs). When the hell do they show anything Ninja Warrior related on either of those events outside of a 15 second plug for an upcoming episode. The 21 and up IS to give them the least trouble age wise; in Japan IIRC from things I've researched, you aren't "of age" in Japan until you are 20 (it's also the legal drinking age). Regardless if the 18 year old will be a boy scout, G4 gains little from having to bring someone seen as a minor in Japan. Freak incidents happen all the time, and I'm fairly sure an American company would rather it not happen in a completely different continent, much less a country where our "of age" culture has enough differences to be significant. Do I hope for those who truly want a shot that G4 has found a way around this and decides to lower it, of course. But I wouldn't hold my breath. BTW, it's their and waiver.

I can't see the link at all so I went to the NW FB page and tried to find it. If he said it and deleted it (which seems to be what happened) it's gone now and it was a mistake. Remember folks.. the guy who updates this page is an intern who barely knows much of the show.

Btw, I tweeted the guy and he replied saying it was a mistake.

Btw, I tweeted the guy and he replied saying it was a mistake. That's what I figured. It's a shame that G4 can't even managed to get basic info right. You'd think there would be an editor or someone to check what's being said to the public.

It was just a typo or mental lapse. Not a huge deal... though it did get my hopes up for nothing. Kinda my fault for thinking it'd actually be true. There was a very low chance that it would be.
James McGrath also messaged me. He said he asked some guy at G4 during ANW3 why the age limit was 21. He got a big long legal response that he couldn't/didn't want to share with me, but basically assured me it'd never be 18.

It was just a typo or mental lapse. Not a huge deal... It was simply an uninformed intern. He/she said the age limit was 18 multiple times that night. I imagine the intern was given a hard spanking for its mistake.
