I was just watching SASUKE 8 again, and tbh, I've never seen anyone climb up the finish rope of the First Stage faster than Jovtchev. Is it conceivable that if the Spider Climb didn't spread apart, he could've climbed up the rope just as fast as he did earlier that day and win? I think he could have.

I don't believe he would have won it all, but alas we will never know because of that blight that was the rain.

Lets for the sake of argument he didn't take the second or two after it started before starting the climb and that it wasn't raining, I think the main factor for his rope climb in stage 1 going so fast was alot of aid from the wall, a free hanging rope I'm not sure he'd go so fast, even if he did he'd probably burn out before making it to the top. If he got the rope I'm not sure he would have won

Hmmmmm, I never thought about that.
I don't think he would have won simply from lack of experience and the fact nobody even got that far before.

He had 6 secs left... he was FORCED to speed up... and the rope climb in stage 1 is a different story from the final.
