A very simple question, for the two course designs, which one do yu think is the hardest for its time. I dont mean harder overall, because that would be sasuke 18. But for its time period, which one is more difficult.

18. I mean 5 only had two obstacles changed in stage 1, one (bad) obstacle added to Stage 2, and one obstacle added and one level difference in the Cliffhanger.
18 had complete overhaul no body expected and wasn't like the last course at all, whole new stages 1 and 2 and a redesign of the Cliffhanger nobody expected and didn't get beaten until 3 tournaments after.

Well sasuke 5 only had 3 pass stage 1, and 1 passed stage 2
in sasuke 18 6 passed stage 6 and 3 passed stage 2

I'd have to give it to 5. 18's only successes, although they were fantastic successes, were the Salmon Ladder and Cliff Hanger, other than that it required big changes for 19, while 6 was almost the same.

I'd have to say 18 because, as Rider said, no one expected the whole thing to be completely changed.

I'd say Sasuke 5. No one truly knew how to attack the Jump Hang successfully and most people failed there, plus the Warped Wall killed off anyone else. Plus, if it wasn't for Shingo's split second win on the 2nd Stage, the tournament would have ended there. Plus, I would consider Sasuke 5's results and difficulty relative to the competitor's skill to be on par with Sasuke 20's, and I think Sasuke 20's course is much harder than Sasuke 18's.

Both were difficult in their own way in their own time. Besides the current format, I still think that the Sasuke 14 and 15 courses were the toughest. Adding the Crooked Wall to the Jump Hang and Warped Wall, adding the Metal Spin on the 2nd stage, and adding the Jumping Bars, Climbing Bars, and Devil's Swing to the 3rd stage was damn tough! I didn't think anyone would ever get to the Final Stage again until Nagasaki and Nagano demolished the course in #17. |

As hard as 18 was id say for its time 5 over 4 for sure no one really knew how to tackle the jump hang and warped wall.
Sasuke 19 is what 18 should have been IMO.

I voted for 5 because the the stats will show that only 3 made stage 2 in 5 that same number made stage 3 in 18. Also some of the obstacles in 18 were a joke such as bungee bridge and warped wall with a rope. But 19 was harder than both

Surprised to see the votes being pretty evenly matched, I went with 18 because of its 3rd and 4th stages. But the first two stages would have to go to 5, it was a bit more of a surprise, for its time.
