Just spoke to A. Smith & Co., and after asking to confirm or deny if callbacks would be extended through next week...
They confirmed it. Friday, 5/6 is no longer the last day callbacks will happen, but sometime next week.
---
That aside, who else is even more frustrated waiting now?

My God if they got the amount of videos M9 gets every tournament they'd never get anything done.. They honestly can't handle 400 applications? /facepalm

How can they possibly do this without moving the taping date? So basically G4 is saying that in less than one week, contenders will:
1.) Get a response
2.) Fill out the application
3.) Get notified if they made it
4.) Arrange travel
5.) Compete
People who sent in their video WEEKS ago are just now being notified. There's no way G4 can pull this off in 5 days.

I think the delay (just to give G4 an excuse) might be because the June taping date is changing. Why would THEY delay if M9/TBS is pushing back the date? Only reason I could think of is they don't want as big as a layoff as last time.

So far though there's zero indication they are moving ANW3 prelims.. what happens with Sasuke doesn't seem to be impacting this.. It just looks like bad disorganization at this point. There's a ton of reports of talking to people that have no idea wtf they are doing.. it's all over the G4 boards.

I doubt G4 is moving prelims. That's alot of red tape to deal with.
I booked my flight/hotel before I got my call back just to make sure I'd be able to travel if I got called back at the last minute. Booking early + a possible cancellation fee would still be cheaper than booking at the last minute.

They seem to be dropping the ball on a bunch of things organization-wise but are banking on those who can make it with almost no notice.

I guess that's the first test, either they want people who can get s*** together fast or they're really putting emphasis on that "Ninja" part... Sneaking out of work, Sneaking onto a plane, Sneaking into a hotel room

It could just be that they're trying to include as many people as possible. If G4 wants more people, it's going to take casting longer to get through all the submissions and applications. Last time for ANW2 I got just one e-mail confirming I had a spot and another for what time I wanted to run the course. This time I ended up with a whole lot more paperwork regarding "my story" for the producers to go through. So all this extra leg work they're doing might be why deadlines are getting extended. Either way, ANW3 will happen and this time I'm thrilled I can go and be a part of it.

No.. I think the fact that they didn't have the 4-5 month leeway they had in ANW2 is killing them. And from what it sounds like it new people who haven't a clue wtf they are doing.. I thik there's too many cooks in the kitchen. One person gets a call back saying they got the application.. while later they get a call back from someone asking if they SENT an application in..
