In the earlier courses, Stage 1 used to be obstable after obstable, with little time needed to transverse between. Time limit around 70-90 seconds
But in the Shin and Renewal era's the transverse is longer, and as such is the time limit is longer. Personally, seeing as I hate pointless faffing about, I'd like to see it as it use to be
What's your opinion on this?

Well how would you shorten the course? Fewer obstacles? Shorter obstacles? The paths as they are are there to set up the other obstacles and can't really be shortened (with the exception of the Hazard Swing -> Rolling Escargot path). Also, the reason the time limit is so large is because the obstacles themselves take longer to complete than older obstacles. Look at obstacles like the Rolling Escargot, the Jumping Spider, and the Half-Pipe Attack. They also take several seconds to complete. You look at older obstacles and they were short in comparison (Cross Bridge, Crooked Wall, Jump Hang, etc). So in order to get a time limit around 70-90 seconds you would need to either have shorter obstacles and get rid of the pre-existing ones OR do something like have 26's course up to the Warped Wall and have a Rope Climb at the end. The final 3 obstacles eat away 40 or so seconds as it is right now.
In my opinion, the length or time limit is not bad, even some of the obstacles are good as is. What was missing in some tournaments in Shin-SASUKE was the sense of speed. Look at a tournament like SASUKE 23. A person like Levi can fly through the JS, HPA, and WW without ever stopping. That is fast, and although the time limit is 2 minutes, it is going by quick. An obstacle like the Curtain Slider or X-Bridge where a guy can keep running from the first obstacle to the third without stopping also is exciting. Whereas something like the Circle Hammer or Hazard Swing (if people are using the swing) looks slow and sort of drags on.
In my opinion, nothing too crazy has to be done. Keep something like the Step Slider as the first obstacle, change the second obstacle so people have to keep running and keep everything else. Also, have a time limit where your encouraged to go fast and you'll have exciting runs.

Step slider was a good first obstacle.
Things like the pole maze in stage 1 was just torture.

The path to the RE looks about 10-15m, which is silly for an obstable that needs no run up. Ditto for the curving path to the JS.
And am I the only one who prefers the Rope Climb to the rope ladder

The Rope Ladder is an absolute bore to watch.
The course needed to return to a 70-90 second stage after Shin Sasuke, and I was really dissapointed in M9 for not doing that.
Stage 1 is too long, and too hard.
The obstacles here take too long to complete and theirs too many of them. People don't "Fly" through the course like Takeda did back in Sasuke 5-17 anymore. That was SOOO fun to watch, I miss stuff like that.
I also miss celebrities and other competitors have an ACTUAL chance to beat Stage 1. It made it WAY more exciting to watch than todays Stage 1.
If that EXILE guy was on Sasuke 17, I think we'd all be more excited for his run, because with training, anybody has a shot of beating stage one with training. Today, you need a completely Sasuke dedicated lifestyle, JUST to beat stage one.

And am I the only one who prefers the Rope Climb to the rope ladder First up, sorry for reviving but it's not too long away. Next, to all Rope Climb lovers, you are not alone, II will always be at your side. I used to love the old stage 2 (1-6). The pre-Shin Sasuke stage 2 is also awesome when they keep cutting the time limit to 60-something seconds. But now, what is it? A timed stage 3? Anyways, a 100-second first stage with 7-8 tough obstacles that don't take too long to complete (like the Circle Slider and Bridge Jump) is fine for me. Personally, SASUKE 25's first stage is plain awesome (except the final obstacle) and what I'd love to see. I wonder why so many people disliked it.

I think because the 'Renewal' had only one new obstable, compared to 18's renewal

Well the name renewal shouldn't automatically mean brand new obstacles across the board. Look at Sasuke 5 -- 2 new obstacles to Stage 1 and only 2 other new ones after Stage 1 regardless of the legacy all but one of those obstacles gained. Renewal just means the changing of the guard: Akiyama -> Nagano -> Urushihara.

Right, but after seeing the exploasion of new obstacles in 18, most people sort of assumed we'd see something like that again in 25.

That's why I loved 25... though everyone else seemed to hate it.
It had great stage balance that hadn't been there since Sasuke 17. And even then I always thought stage 2 was a little too easy... not much harder and maybe easier than stage 1, then going straight to the insane third stage.
I like easy first stages. I like seeing new people get to stage 2, and it would be cool for more celebrities to get there. I'd love to see Kawahara on the salmon ladder. I'd love for someone like Luci or Rie Komiya to beat stage 1.
I'd love Ishimaru to finally beat the first stage.
Ryo too.... though he kinda got screwed in 25 going so early.

It was already a huge step down in difficulty. The only thing is the "new stars" had zero experience on the old obstacles. People got unlucky for the most part, and there really weren't that many great competitors in 25 in comparison to say 26.

Take the competitor pool of 26 (For the sake of argument having the same experience they had in 26) and put them on 25's course.. We'd probably see another 4
