So in this thread we can discuss some of the "smaller named" competitors.
Was that Rie Komiya on the rolling escargot?
Old man Ishimaru also failed the rolling escargot?
Nomura failed the second obstacle?

Yeah, that was Rie definitely in one of the FF's. To see so many FF's this time around, and all mainly being on one obstacle.....it was just brutal. I was REALLY hoping that Ishimaru would've gone further, but to see him getting knocked out on the R.E.....*sighs*.....hopefully we'll see him next time.

I was really annoyed Tajima and Sato Jun weren't even shown and they're Shin Sedai... They deserve at least a FF

To be honest I'm not sure why Komiya wasn't shown. She's pretty attractive, is part of MM, has fans, and got far for a girl.

Tajima competed in the 80s, either #86 or #89.
Sato was seen before America's Adam Laplante run on the screen next to the start line. All we know was that he made it to the Rolling Escargot.

OK thanks guys. That's quite scandalous that TBS didn't even show 2 of their "Shin-Sedai.'

I could care less about the new stars. TBS just put names on a list and said they were the next big guys, when some of them didn't really do anything to get there.
This time around, it isn't All Stars VS. New Stars, it's Americans vs. Japanese people.
But not showing Rie Komiya makes no sense to me.

Why hype these Shin-Sedai when you're not going to show them? Kanno was in the final in 23 and Tajima got to the last obstacle in stage 3 in 24 and should have been in the final as well, so saying they haven't done anything is kind of stupid. 2. It shouldn't be USA vs. Japan or Taiwan or any country....it should be about competitors trying to push the limits TOGETHER. This will come back to bite TBS in the ar$e you wait and see. 3. You just wanted to see Rie's amazing body and that's it. OH...

You just wanted to see Rie's amazing body and that's it. OH... 1. Go outside and interview Japanese people. Besides Yuuji, I don't think any of them really know the new stars. I'm talking more about Sato Jun, Naoya Tajima, those guys. They did great in a few tournaments. Great. But there nothing compared to other people that DESERVE to be shown. The new stars are great, the all stars are great, but there's a lot of other stars that are plenty better that aren't being shown. 2.I'm not supporting this. Read every post i've made. This is HOW TBS MADE IT. I don't like it just as much as you don't like it. I've been a Sasuke fan since 2007, and the best part about this competition is there's no.... competition! Were all for one common goal. 3. I don't know why you made that into a diss. I don't understand. First of all, I really want a woman to beat the first stage. But what I want more, is an interest for girls to beat the first stage. Rei currently is the strongest female competitor. They didn't show her, but they showed a bunch of other ladies who failed the first obstacle. And yes Lars, "Rei's amazing body" That too. That too.

She was on screen for like 2 seconds maybe Lars: The reason they didn't hype up Sato or Tajima simply is because they both did horrible this time around. Why would they waste time hyping up people that did bad? They'll hype up fan favorites and people who did well. If they would've hyped up Sato it would've been completely wasted seeing as how he didn't do very good. Not sure why they didn't do much for Koji but he was fast forwarded the whole time anyway. If they do well and don't hype them up, THEN you have room to complain. But if they do horribly and arn't shown, that's fine with me.

/facepalm They hyped the hell out of Yamada and he sucked big time.. An entire show was named after a celebrity that never even was in Sasuke before and failed just well in the first stage...your point is exactly what?
Part of the reason why the New Stars have not taken off is TBS' fickle nature in how they promoted even their own labeled people. Win/lose/draw they have to continue to support their own so people feel a connection. Everyone HERE bitched about Yuuji coming out of nowhere while us who followed Sasuke Mania and saw how he came from trials and took years to get to where he is now felt a connection to him. THAT is how you gain viewership. Not promote willy nilly. I mean seriously.. People who are totally hardcore over people who lose over and over simply because you follow their journey over a period of tournaments is how TBS makes ratings. If TBS doesn't promote people regardless of how they do in ONE tournament that connection will NEVER be made.. I laugh at all of you who don't see that see that but continue to cry and moan when THEIR favorites aren't shown. And you talk about US being hypocrites.

And where exactly did I cry and moan when my favorites arn't shown? Arsenette understand that I'm not saying it was a smart thing for them to do, I'm just trying to rationalize possibly why they did it that way. Kongu wasn't really shown in the navi, he failed stage 1. Connection? Sato and Tajima weren't shown, they failed in stage 1 and were cut from the broadcast. Connection? Same thing for Kanno. Of course they are going to hype Yamada, simply because he is an all-star, but not everyone has that label going for them.

Point being that you don't respect the New Star label. At least Juice definitely doesn't which means the argument of why there were not shown doesn't float by that standard. They should have been. TBS created this mess to begin with. We can ALL agree on that. If TBS was more consistent in who they showed.. especially if they GAVE them labels.. we wouldn't have so many issues of people not liking the new stars.
