I train to compete on the course one day hopefully. Although my training doesn't simply consist of this, I feel I could do well on the course if I would get the opportunity in my present physical condition. I've just got to hope it's still around in 2-3 years when I can finally get my chance.

You know without me saying that I want to compete lol I've recently begun sending emails to my "local broadcaster" of Ninja Warrior again, since they were bought by a different company, so hopefully that could yield some results! Failing that, I shall kindly beg M9 in Japanese to make an exception for SASUKE's potential first Brit

I have at least seven years before I can try ANW and I just turned 14 last month so it's a low bar that It will still be on by then. If it is I will be willing to go through ANW and I bet I can still make it to cali by then.

I know the window is closing, but I'd be happy to even just be at an ANW event. I'd probably have a heart attack if I made it to Sasuke.

As much as I want to go, I doubt it will even be on by the time I turn 21 And if it is, there's no way I'm qualifying through ANW, and it's not worth moving to Japan over. Oh well. I'll stick to playing around at Crabapple Park Will you ever show up and try out the mini course, provided they have them in the future? Sure. Now someone give me the $500+ in travel expenses. (aka I live on the other side of the country and don't have the leeway to shell out that kind of money just for a trial course)

I am preparing for the 2011 ANWC. I think I will be pretty well prepared physically, but what are the chances of actually being able to run the course if you just show up? Does it help your chances alot if you send in a video?

Does it help your chances alot if you send in a video? I expect a larger turnout than last time (iirc it was around 750 people?) Something like a week before the actual event they closed registration except for hot chicks and people in costume.. so when the application comes out please do a video to have yourself considered. I would strongly suspect that unless they change the format they will have almost all closed entries (with the obvious exception for hot chicks and costumed people) for ANW3 provided there is one.

Thanks for the advice. It looks like I will need to start thinking of video ideas. I am going to do every thing I can to get in next year.

I'd love to be the first English competiter ever. (I haven't seen any evidence of another before me)

I've never been west of the Mississippi River, and I don't think my parents have would be too happy about the idea of spending $3000+ just so I could go out and try a mini course for a show I have no chance of ever getting on. But if it's still on in 8 years and I have a decent amount of money and G4 is still doing ANW, then yeah I'm going

Sure. Now someone give me the $500+ in travel expenses. (aka I live on the other side of the country and don't have the leeway to shell out that kind of money just for a trial course) You're 17. You can make your own monies. I am preparing for the 2011 ANWC. I think I will be pretty well prepared physically, but what are the chances of actually being able to run the course if you just show up? Does it help your chances alot if you send in a video? It does help a lot, yes. I highly recommend sending one in and getting a reserved spot. Even though G4 won't run you when they say they will, it beats waiting in line for 12+ hours, only to be turned away. Thanks for the advice. It looks like I will need to start thinking of video ideas. I am going to do every thing I can to get in next year. It hasn't been that hard so far. Just show them you're serious and you have above average athleticism. Throw in fancy tricks and crap if you can, too. They seem to like that. I've never been west of the Mississippi River, and I don't think my parents have would be too happy about the idea of spending $3000+ just so I could go out and try a mini course for a show I have no chance of ever getting on. But if it's still on in 8 years and I have a decent amount of money and G4 is still doing ANW, then yeah I'm going I'd estimate it at $2,500 at most and that's living very, very comfortably. My girlfriend and I made it on about $1,500, but that included eating sandwiches for nearly every meal. I don't recommend it.

When it comes to television, California is almost always the place you need to be.
The only thing I can say is to start saving now and make it your vacation for the year.

I was thisclose to going out to CA for ANW2. I submitted a video, filled out the forms, but I didn't have a way at the time to make back the money I was going to have to spend out in CA.
Now I definitely have the bank for ANW3 if I get accepted to go. I even stepped up my training. I workout at a CrossFit gym, climb at a rock climbing gym, and am starting to go to a Sasuke-friendly gym called Urban Evolution.
No excuses for 2011!

My wife was watching ANW3 with me last wednesday and was pretty inspired. Now she is thinking of trying out with me for ANW4 next year. She is decently athletic and with some more upper body strength might do well. We are thinking of submitting a duel entry video showing how we train together, ect.. She seems pretty serious about it. About what time this year did the start exepting videos? I am trying to figure out how much time we would have to put something together.

ANW is renewed year by year since it has to go through TBS/M9 first. With the fate of Sasuke in question there is no fixed date though we are convinced ANW will continue with/without Sasuke tied to it. The only other correction though.. it's ANW2 you saw. ANW3 has not been announced though it's expected to run sometime during the summer if at all next year.

IWANNAGO! I went to ANW2 to do the baby mini course. I'm probably going to go to ANW3, by myself without my dad and brothers (No offense to them, but they wanted to leave as soon as we got there honestly.)
I'd really like to just be at the mini course all damn day. That was worth it for me, but I live in SD, so it's not that far to drive up to LA.

I look forward to seeing your wife's run, if she decides to try out. The men:women ratio was way off. IWANNAGO! I went to ANW2 to do the baby mini course.
