Once again, please vote sensibly and honestly. Choose the 3 factors that you think could have the MOST impact even if you think there are more than 3. If I missed something, then add a comment below. Thanks again- last poll!

Nagano not being in the 3rd stage onwards lol.
Seriously though I went with lack of promotion, the rating scare, and lack of big names.

Reading blogs and whatnot I know the answers to that and I have a hard time ignoring them myself. It's too long, lack of big names and the biggest one.. lack of interest - outdated program.

Promotion and for the most part securing big names is 100% up to M9. Ratings are really out of their hands, but promotion and big names can help.

I said "lack of M9/TBS advertising or promotion" (they don't really do so until too soon), "lack of interest in show- outdated program" (it's not much of an original idea after 25 times), and "duration of program is too long" (it used to be shorter/able to watch it in 1 sitting; now, they're tough for even us to sometimes finish all at once---especially Sasuke 24, which was 6 hours long IIRC).

Definitely absence of big names. Also "lack of interest in show- outdated program"
Last option i voted was the g4 involvement. I dont think they really like the fact that G4 is sending out 10 americans.

Former big Sasuke names doesn't really mean anything because people who care about those competitors (With the exception of Kane) were the people who were going to watch anyways. Because of the "OR" I clicked that for choice 1 because as much as I hate to say this we need a celeb filled Sasuke just to get people to tune in, I mean all we had in 25 was a comedian who's supposed past their peak of popularity and a boy band who pretty much is just going on just to get their name out.. 23 and 24 had alot of names from Comedians to Olympians and look how those did in ratings..
We didn't even see the 10 second commercial for 25 until like a week or two before it aired... They need to start advertising like next month really...
Let's face it.. It's a specialty show that's only reran a tournament once (with half the stuff cut) and has been running since 1997. I mean sure it has a big "cult following" (Want proof? Look at the fact we got 700 something members) but has it really been a BIG hit in Japan? I mean sure it did pretty good but I'm sure those are from people who tuned in to see what this new thing is all about and watched for Kane Kosugi (Lets face it.. We need some big names who don't go out in the first half of the first stage... Closest we've gotten any time recently is Sato Hiromichi and is a kids show star really that big of a name?...))
And Let's face it... I've had to say "Let's face it..." 1000 times in this post "

I dont think they really like the fact that G4 is sending out 10 americans. I don't agree with the lack of interest/outdated program answer especially since Sasuke is a special and not a a regular program. Survivor, another competition show here in America, is only 2.5 years younger than Sasuke and is doing just fine. I don't think it's stale at all and has the potential to continue for a long time. Sasuke 25 was a horrible anomaly- they had virtually no advertising and were up against some impossible competition. If I remember correctly, Sasuke 24 won it's timeslot (or came close). I remember Arsenette saying winning a timeslot is just as important as the actual viewing percentage itself. If Sasuke can manage a first place like it did in January, I think it's fine.

If they didn't like the idea of 10 Americans getting slots, M9 wouldn't have given them 10 slots. It's like few realized the recent promotion of ANW in Japan, even if it was to say three Sasuke competitors would be there.

I think it's the advertising and lack of big names(more specifically, them not getting far). This show, especially since it occurs on average, twice a year, needs advertising. And lots of it in the weeks up to the broadcast. For example, have after every M9 program, a 5 second announcement telling viewers to watch Sasuke on X date.

Thanks everyone for voting! Here is what I take out of the 2 surveys:
1. Most people are still quite optimistic about the state of SASUKE even though there have been so many problems and negative aspects as of late. I know that Japanese viewers may feel differently, but that's a different story.
2. If you look at the factors above that garnered the most votes - lack of promotion, lack of big names, and lack of interest in the show - it basically shows that the same issues come up time and time again and that falls squarely on the shoulders of M9 and TBS. They should look at this survey and realize that if they want the show to survive, they are going to have to make some changes to attract new viewers. IF they didn't care about SASUKE, it would have died long ago. But the fact that we're going to have the 26th show says that there is still a desire for SASUKE- not just for fans like us, but obviously TBS and M9 agree otherwise the show would have been cancelled. IF ratings depend on Japanese viewers, then why not promote the hell out of it a few months beforehand, have a trials and maybe a program like SASUKE Maniac, get some big celebrities or athletes there to promote the show ahead of time and not just show up and fail obstacle #1 etc. etc. etc.
Basically, IF SASUKE dies in the near future, TBS and M9 only have themselves to blame. If they put forth more effort and try a few new things as mentined above and it still fails, then it is time to move on.

Well that would pretty much be Muscle Musical (And the people there would probably watch Sasuke anyways..), Sportsman #1 (which is probably getting shown after Sasuke) and obviously Sasuke (And promoting Sasuke after it ends isn't a good idea..). Now if thye put something like that up after everything on TBS then it'd be a good idea..

Let us hope that M9 & TBS get their act back together.

They haven't been so high since SASUKE 13.
