Delurking: I have to admit, right now I would be surprised if G4 does listen to their viewers, only because when I emailed them twice regarding how DirecTV is dropping them later today, I heard nothing (I at least got some response on the DirecTV side, albeit bland and canned). I wonder how that will affect ANW and later NW ratings if the dispute doesn't get resolved before December (assuming that Comcast will continue to talk to DirecTV - if not, I might have to ask around to see if any friends on different providers can tape ANW for me, although I think I'm one of the only folks with a VCR still that I know IRL (sighs)). Then again, if their ratings drop a lot from losing DirecTV viewers, maybe they will be more responsive to listening to the rest.
That said, has G4 said anything about how exactly they will air ANW (especially number of episodes or how many episodes will run at a given time) beyond that the last two episodes evidently are spoilers for Sasuke 26? Also, it does make me wonder how that works with their deal with TBS, since it is surprising if they are allowed to air Sasuke footage before it airs in Japan.

Also, it does make me wonder how that works with their deal with TBS, since it is surprising if they are allowed to air Sasuke footage before it airs in Japan. As of right now, we have no idea how many episodes there will be. Last time there were eight, but I believe they can and should produce more episodes with what they have. As for airing footage ahead of Sasuke 26 (assuming this is the case, of course) the best guess as to why is that G4 and TBS agreed upon that G4 can show the footage in December back when TBS thought they would be airing Sasuke in Japan in September/October. However, Sasuke got pushed back but G4 still had the rights to show Sasuke in ANW 2 because it said so in their contract. Basically, I imagine there was no clause that specifically said G4 had to air it after it is shown in Japan. TBS just assumed that would be the case. Of course, this theory is completely moot if G4 announces ANW 2 won't finish until January, after Sasuke 26 airs in Japan.

DirectTV dropped "VS" last year and then picked it back up a few months later, so hopefully with enough viewe support they'll pick G4 back up (in HD!).
As far as number of ANW2 episodes, they said that they were going to have more that ANW1, so we'll see.

I like how in one news story G4 was all, "They dropped us, the only channel dedicated to gaming life!". What kind of universe does G4 live in? This has me a little worried, though. Everyone I know here has DirecTV and I'd rather not miss ANW2.

On AOTS a few minutes ago, Alison mentioned that she just got back from ANW in Japan. Then they made an announcement that the first hour long episode premieres on December 8. Also, they mentioned something about throwing a house party and getting a sneak preview. houseparty.com/anw2Not sure what they meant about an hour long but that's what I heard. Maybe it'll be weekly?

On Facebook it says the 1st batch of episodes are on Wednesday December 8th and the show is running from 8-11. 3 hours worth of ANW? Looking likely we might see the full course from Sasuke 26 before it airs in Japan =(

Well, unless they show it online, it's a moot point for us DirecTV viewers. G4 fails one last time for many of us.

It's not necessarily a moot point - I know I'll ask my friends to see if anyone can tape it for me and another affected friend if need be when the time comes. That said, I hope the Facebook event info is incorrect - a 3 hour marathon means we would burn through more episodes faster, since that sounds like it would cover a good portion of the preliminaries, if not the semi-finals. (sighs) On the other hand, it would probably get better ratings that way.

I applaud you guys for trying, but you know how well G4 listens to the fans. Much like DirecTV listens to G4

So yeah, more people go post in the G4 forum at the link Arsenette posted above. G4 doesn't read it here.

If you guys would like I will try to stream ANW2 when it airs, I can't do it via Ustream due to their regulations but I will try on BlogTV possibly. Also I have a capture card so you should be able to see the whole thing like you would on TV ...That is, if I don't switch to DirectTV first

Actually David I think it's just you and me. Whenever it comes down to it no one else will stand up for it. It's just easy to b**** about it on SMF but when it comes down to it no one has the balls to put their name up as a protest to the show's format. The "oh they won't listen" arguments are the current excuses now. Considering that now G4 has lost Direct TV for lack of content on their network it is the PERFECT time for the fans to rise up to make sure it gets right with it's audience. But again.. kids don't see past 5 feet in front of them.
