Just so you all know, G4 put up Sasuke 14 in the original Ninja Warrior format. For those of you who aren't familiar with it, the graphics (including the NW logo) were different. the stage guide went across the top of the screen, the clock was bigger, the announcer was WAY more over the top, and replays were done differently.
It's a great trip down memory lane for those who were introduced to Ninja Warrior this way.

I miss that format. Dammit, don't have it on U-Verse. Sorry about that. I like certain parts of it better, but not Wittenberg's commentary. An interesting note, when they introduced Kinnikun Nakayama as champion of the celebrity sportsman no. 1 champ, they used the Japanese word Geinojin in the description. I was pretty impressed at that; I wonder if that was edited out for the redo? |

All I know is that since G4 went HD, all their crap is a little smaller and a little more out of the way. I like it.  Are there screen shots of this old format? *cough* Rider *cough* |

How awesome would it be if someone was nice enough to find a way for it to magically appear...you know. In my opinion this format change was one of those "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" type deals. The intro change was fine, the competition graphics? Not so much.

Honestly I think the original version beats the modified one. Because A:that big red bar in the corner isn't taking up space, and B:We can see more footage.

Then the "Red Box" ones which were standard.. Then they have a new one as of ANW/K8/23/24/25 where instead of blocking and replacing it they just put their stuff over the clock and under their logo with smaller icons.. Ideally I like the original Sasuke format, but if I had to go with an NW format the new one seems to work |

Woah. That's pretty cool. I only started watching right when they got the red box so it's weird seeing Ninja Warrior this way (especially with the changed Wittenberg commentary and the acknowledgement of Geinojin).
So IMO, v3 > v1 > v2.
