(NOTE: All of this is only speculation from the trailers. None of this has been confirmed whatsoever. Just a head's up...) Was I seeing things.. Or did that one Rolling Escargot fail look like it was Kanno? Maybe, maybe not. IIRC when we first saw the 10-second Sasuke 25 trailer you or somebody else said it looked like him on the final Stage 3 obstacle, and it turned out to be a tester. Though I doubt that here, it could still possibly be a tester or (more likely IMO) another competitor that just looks like him. Besides, I doubt they'd show a top competitor failing that early on anyway. My thoughts/interpretations regarding the first trailer and the possible people in them: 1.) Step Slider failure looks a little like Dancho (i.e. that one circus guy with the red drape thingy for covering himself who failed the Log Grip in Sasuke 20) 2.) Hazard Swing failure looks a little like this guy3.) 1st Rolling Escargot failure may be Shinya Kishimoto (it looks like him and the announcer even seems to say scream "Shinya!" at the part he's shown at; also, since in the third trailer there's a guy who is almost certainly him and is bending a frying pan who is given the number 8, it would make sense that it's the same guy since both runs are taking place during the early daytime, which is also typical of early-numbered runs) 4.) Rider might be right with Kanno (now that I think about it a little more that run is taking place when it's pitch black outside and that's when the higher numbers (which Kanno is likely to have) are bound to run), but then again who knows maybe they're trying to deceive us again... 5.) Giant Swing failure, I have no idea. Probably not a tester since they usually don't wear shirts, plus since it's at night it's probably a better and/or more experienced competitor. 6.) Double Salmon Ladder failure may be a tester. If not, I'd guess either Kanno or one of the male Muscle Musical members since they usually don't wear shirts when they compete either. Either way, that's yet another way to fail that obstacle. 7.) Doorknob Grasper failure? I guess it's tougher than we thought! I have no idea who it is though, the text is in the way so it's even tougher to tell.

EXILE just won their third straight Japan Record Award. They didn't really run a SASUKE commercial during the show that I saw but during one break they at least showed the tower with the airdate.

Glad to see that TBS is finally doing some promotion albeit a little late. Although the whole top 10 thingy was pointless, at least they 're promoting SASUKE to the general public in Japan. This could create a new generation of fans and garner hiher ratings which is vital in the survival of SASUKE. I will be very interested in seeing the ratings this time around...

Excuse me... Can I post ANW video?

One thing I was interested to see in the trailer was that guy from EXILE getting past the Jumping Spider. Good for him! A serious competitor from the entertainment buisness. Besides Muscle Musical Members, we don't get many of those...

I hate to say this but it looks pretty likely it's Kanno... I know yes, black shorts competitor but he has that exact same look (style of the pants, the shoes, that way of falling you don't exactly see from anyone else) As for the other two I recommend you look around the forum.. can't say..

It's just that it would surprise me if they spoiled him failing so early on the course in the trailer. I know they sort of did that with Hashimoto on the UCH in 25 as well, but at least it wasn't really shocking since he got pretty far anyway. Showing a top competitor fail on an early obstacle before the broadcast even airs just seems really weird though IMO. I'm not saying you're wrong, it's just that I couldn't understand why they'd show him in a trailer rather than someone random and/or someone who we wouldn't recognize. As for the other two I recommend you look around the forum.. can't say.. Check again man. I'm way ahead of you.

My speculation - - I think that it is Shinya and Kanno on the Rolling Escargot. Although I can easily be wrong.. - No idea who it is on the Giant Swing - Also, after the giant swing fail it shows Yamada with a towel on him. Does that mean he failed or just likes carrying towels on him? - Guy on DSL actually kind of looks like Iketani if you pause as soon as the scene shows up and see pretty much his whole body doing the jump. - I think its an American on the Doorknobs - Also noticed Mr Sasuke is wearing a shirt when hes on the starting line. Is that whole theory with the shirt & Jumping spider still around? LOL

- I think that the person that fails the Rolling Escargot is Yamada he has the Black shirt and he competes in Black shorts. The towel yeah I think he failed. One more thing... it's pink. EDIT: LOL he's not wearing a shirt.

Ugh, watched that longer trailer in the competitor thread Scnoi posted. I know why they do it but come on, couldn't they have given the guy we know is #100 the final shot in the commercial? He didn't even get a shot this time aside from him from 24. I like Nagano and all, but he's no longer the current Grand Champion.

Technically there is no current champion since the course changes right after someone wins it but I guess you could say he is the most recent champion. But Nagano is the peoples champion and the spearhead of SASUKE whether you like it or not its a fact.

I would be very surprised if they showed any of the all stars or new stars failing the first stage in the trailer. Have they done this before?

But Nagano is the peoples champion and the spearhead of SASUKE whether you like it or not its a fact. Most recent = current if you didn't know. And people's champion? What makes him more than Akiyama and Yuuji? He took longer to win? Kinda backward to think the longer one takes to do something the better he is.

It probably a bunch of factors. For a long time he was the favorite to win, he did win, he remained good after he won, he has a very refreshing personality, hard worker, average joe background etc. I'm sure we can make a list but I think the main thing is that he has been around longer and gets more coverage.

He might be the most recent champion and im a fan of his too, but is he the most popular?, I don't think so, and sadly to alot of mardy people out there in Japan he is seen as a cheater over his boots in 24, and TBS made this worse. sad but true.

Yeah, gotta agree with that. Hopefully yuuji has a great tournment and can silence his critics. And of course Nagano is the people's champion - that's just plain obvious.
