I bet it's just better strategy. With bare feet it's a lot easier to grip since you can bend your feet/toes rather than just a flat grip with shoes (or less traction with socks). Unrelated example: Like when I go rock climbing (which is rare since I can never find a wall), they always tell me to wear my shoes, but I find it easier to go barefoot since I can curl my toes around the rocks rather than just use part of my shoe on the top of the rock. I think they make more money that way

I chose 3, but really it's hard to pick since most of the people listed have an extremely good chance of making it in.
The first stage is easier and is currently designed to not be as unpredictable as the shin-Sasuke first stage. Also, the second stage is not really any harder then before (more time, slightly harder Salmon Ladder).
Reaching the third stage IMHO isn't the challenge it was in Shin-Sasuke. I might be taking this back, but I can easily see 10 people in the third stage. The only reason there wasn't 10 clears in 25 was due to stupid Salmon Ladder mistakes and even more stupid Balance Tank falls.

The time in the Second Stage is a factor now, much more so than in Shin-SASUKE (with the exception of 23). No one except Kongu finished with more than 5 seconds left. Also, the DSL/UB combo is a deadly one which could cause more failures as more people make it to the Second Stage.
On topic: I'd want to see Nagano, Yuuji, and Takeda in the Third Stage

Exactly what I picked, obviously most people are going to choose Nagano.
Then people think of who has been to the 3rd stage the most? Takeda.
Then of course people usually don't go for 3 all-stars, so they'll go for the biggest new-star or biggest hopeful, and 3rd champion, Yuuji.
Exactly what I put, and those are the top 3 choices.

Shunsuke, Takeda, Nagano, Kongu (twice), Levi, Li, and Okuyama So I don't really think time was a big issue. If it was then lots of people would finish with only one second left. But I do recall Shingo finishing with 1 second in 23 so your half right.

Plenty of people finished with plenty of time during the Shin era, but now time has become a factor again in the post Yuuji era.

I remember before he got to the final I thought *I wonder how crazy he will be if he clears Stage 3...* Well now we know! Image if he achieves Kanzensheiha Anyways, I want him to get to the 3d stage but I didnt vote for him. I know he will get there anyway.

I can't just pick three! I would like there to be about 5-8 competitors in the 3rd Stage. Even though that's pretty unlikely, it would make for a dramatic 3rd stage! For this competition, I want the underdogs to go far for once. People like Akiyama, Yamada, Shingo, Sato, Washimi, etc. And, of course, we need Nagano and Yuuji in there too! And the 3rd stage wouldn't be the same without our favorite fire fighter! And if we could just squeeze in some fan favorite celebs like Iketani and Nakata, the ratings would go through the roof...hopefully. I'm not a huge fan of the New Stars, and they got their glory in 24/25. Lee is great, I would love to see him in the 3rd stage again! He's so generous to us that he deserves it. I know this all seems extremely unlikely, but, maybe, just maybe, it could happen.

Pass it down, save some for everyone Back on topic - def shocked for the lack of Okuyama love, only 2 out of 54 want him in the third stage? Nagano's swallowing everyone's votes I guess. Secondly I agree with darkpanther in that I want there to be 5-8 in the Third Stage but mostly to see how well the UCH fares after 1. we've had a while to practice and 2. let's face it no one wants to see another 19.

we've had a while to practice and 2. let's face it no one wants to see another 19. While this may be the second tournament after Kanzenseiha like 19 was, I am honestly tired of hearing that every single new tournament we await. I've been hearing "another 19" since at least sasuke 21. But w/e it's a thread I made so no complaining on my part.

I'm pretty sure the old first stage was brought back to prevent 20+ clears and also because it's become a bit more "iconic".

Obviously. Perhaps there arn't as many older fans that like the older obstacles such as the rolling log, and more newer fans who enjoyed the Jumping Spider and HPA.
Stage 1 is very important considering it's the majority of the tournament and it's shown at the start, so they have to do something that they think will be interesting to watch. When they switched to thew new first stage the show got bad ratings. Obviously there were a lot of factors in that but who knows, maybe M9 just thought it was a safer bet to revert back to shin-sasuke stage 1.
I'm not too pleased with it but I don't hate it or anything.

But the first stage just felt odd and outdated, and felt out of place with the newer stages 2 and 3. Also, going back to old obstacles like Rolling Log and Jump Hang was a huge mistake IMO- if you're going to use older obstacles then modify/update them. I'm like you though...didn't hate it but was OK. Seems like there will be changes to stage 1 though - hope they don't just have the same obstacles as they did in 24.
