Rules say you can't touch the water, rules say you can't time out.. Theres nothing PHYSICALLY stopping competitors from moving on (With the exception of the last few obstacles of Stage 3 ever since the Jumping Bars were added).. So that would make all fails DQs technically

Missing an obstacle is not a DQ. Several people have "missed" several obstacles, recovered and continued. Jumping Spider, anyone? Nagano wasn't DQed until he splashed. He missed the circle and things looked bad from there, but he was still technically running.
Technically Rider is right, but I agree with you. It shouldn't count as a DQ. I guess that's because disqualification has such a negative connotation.

right, but I agree with you. It shouldn't count as a DQ. I guess that's because disqualification has such a negative connotation. I think the whole "argument" is missing the point of what I was trying to say... I didn't mean start calling every fail as a DQ, I'm still going to call them fails.. Although by the technical definition they are and people should refers to "Course Outs" as what they are.. So I think everyone got what I was trying to say backwards.. XD Missing an obstacle is not a DQ. Several people have "missed" several obstacles, recovered and continued. Jumping Spider, anyone? Nagano wasn't DQed until he splashed. He missed the circle and things looked bad from there, but he was still technically running. Yuuji was technically still in in 25 when he was just hanging there on the vertical bar held on by one of the stoppers yet it wasn't until it fell down a notch still hanging on and his foot touched the water that he was out.. Could he have done anything from when he got into that situation? No.. Was he out just for the bar only being on on one side? Also no..

I got what you were saying. I was responding to Arsenette. Also, a "course out" is a type of disqualification. I don't see any harm in calling them "course outs" provided they actually are. Exactly!

I see what you are saying Oti. I agree with you more than Rider's blanket statement that all are DQ's.
As far as I'm concerned I follow what is officially written on the screen when they have their run. TBS rarely uses the DQ moniker and so people shouldn't be willy nilly adding to it because they like redefining things for their own satisfaction.

This is starting to sound like the Is the Brick Climb an obstacle? arguement....
Whatever the show says it is is what it is. You can't just decide things are different because you like it more...

Again.. I think you're completely missing what I'm trying to say.. Since technically all fails would fit the definition of disqualification we should refer to Course Outs as "Course Out(s)" is what I'm trying to say.. How is this difficult to get anyways? XD
