LOL In 1998, Nagano hosted the XVIII Olympic Winter Games, the second Winter Olympics to be held in Japan since 1972 when the XI Olympic Winter Games were held in Sapporo, Hokkaidō (the first Winter Games ever held in Asia).

Yea I first knew Nagano as a famous place in Japan for holding the winter Olympics. Not surprised at all, especially since I was in Korea, hearing about all the things that happened at Nagano when I was 6.
