lol Never knew I was that good a writer. *Ego grows massively*
But seriously, yeah, actually I ended up writing that once I had fully read the argument at the G4 boards. I had noticed the argument there was moreso based on morals so to speak, and noticed no one really elaborated on the money itself. So why not.

Wow that came from you? I still agree with what you said and quite frankly agree with the reason why the money was so staggering and will become problematic once everyone else gets wind of it. Again. Let's see what happens since we have no control over this.

Thanks. IDK why, but I fear if someone "unfamiliar" so to speak goes the farthest but doesn't win, he's gonna misunderstand what they meant and we'll have such conflict, this initial reaction will seem like nothing.

Yeah. If it can confuse watchers like us, it'll definately confuse someone who doesn't visit either forum.

Yeah. If it can confuse watchers like us, it'll definately confuse someone who doesn't visit either forum. That's going to cause chaos if it's not spelled out... well.. it's already caused chaos..

SERIOUSLY?!? G4 IS ACTUALLY DOING THIS FOR ANW2?!? I'm sorry, but this is one of the worst things (if not the worst thing) that G4 is yet to do regarding Sasuke IMO. They're just distorting it more and more into their own game show that they intend to make more and more of a profit from over the course of more tournaments to come in the future. What happened to them allowing fans like us the opportunity to go compete there just for the thrill and excitement of it? With this move, people that we've never heard of before are only going to try getting on Sasuke and compete for the $250K and nothing else. Now I'm not saying that some people (i.e. most of the people on here who train for it) would do it for just the money, but the majority of them probably will. Besides, this will almost certainly make it even more difficult for people on here to compete since the draw of a lot of cash will lead to a ton of other athletes to go in place of the true fans. I'm also concerned what this will do to Sasuke's future; after all, although it may promote the show in the U.S.A., it may decrease its popularity in Japan due to the apparent American takeover and G4's exploitation of the show for their own benefits. Point blank, I really think that all that will come out of this "big news". And at the same time, I have a very ominous feeling about what will happen to quite possibly my favorite television program of all time. I REALLY hope I'm wrong...

I haven't read this thead much or been on here lately but I heard it got pretty nagative in at least one thread...which is a waste of energy. But I'll thow in my immediate reactions.
I have mixed feelings, but ultimately am glad they did it. Wipeout which is a joke show and a rip off of sasuke offers 50,000 every episode (multiple episodes per season) which makes Ninja Warrior seems like the cheap joke show in a way.
I get crap for "wasting" so much time and money training for this from people close to me, now I can at least tell them a good reason for it. That there may be a significant payoff.
This WILL bring tons of competitors looking to cash in....but they'll fail. To win you WILL have to basically devote your life to it....for a while at least. I can only think of 3 Americans that have the slightest chance of winning within the next year including myself...and even that not a sure thing my any means.
I've thought for a while that the prize for total victory japanese or otherwise should be $1,000,000 considering how hard it is and how often they don't pay out. So I'm fine with it if anyone has a problem it should be with TBS for being cheap all this time.
And yes it's not about the money for us obviously, but there IS a lot of money being made by the networks both american and japanese, so why not actually pay the stars of the show with a prize? Other athletes and actors get paid shitloads of money.

I say this to anyone and not just you David. Without reading both sides it's impossible to have an honest discourse. It's no longer a "debate". Please read the other arguments to see why we think this is a horrendous idea. If nothing else read the one post forums.g4tv.com/showpost.php?p=2608004&postcount=8 entirely to get a better feel for the argument. It's not negative at all but brutally honest as to the situation.. especially since Sasuke is NOT an American based show abiding by rules and regulations from this country. Heck.. being a socialist country most of that money is gone (about 60%-80% goes to the Fed anyway so they wouldn't see the full cash even if they got it).

They just made their official announcement on G4 but didn't give any additional info. Olivia just gave the tryout dates and then said they are giving $250,000 for total victory. They also just showed an ANW2 commercial that stated the same thing and said to go to www.g4tv.com/anw2 for more info. They didn't specify in their announcement or commercial that it had to be an American or quickest time, but they have this line on their site...

No no.. 26 is going to have the over-done amount from 23 again.. This can't end well with all this stuff together...
And I don't get that fastest time thing.. Isn't beating the tower in *time limit* fast enough?..

Isn't beating the tower in *time limit* fast enough?.. I think that is there just in case hell freezes over and we have two winners from America in the same tournament. That way they don't have to give $250k out more than once.

And I don't get that fastest time thing.. Isn't beating the tower in *time limit* fast enough?.. The reason is just in case more than one American beats the Final Stage. That way, at most, they only have to award the $250,000. *EDIT* GODDAMMIT Sconi! You beat me to the punch!

So, is it the fastest of all the Americans, or is it the fastest of anyone in the final?

Well judging by those explanations on the last page.. I'm guessing if two or more G4 Americans make it to the final and at least 2 of them win.. whoever has most time remaining on their Kanzenseiha achieving Final Stage run gets the big money...
Did I get it right this time?...

I already got the part about 2 or more Americans beating it and it going to the fastest of them, but I just wanted to know if it was just being timed between the Americans regardless of the other competitors or not.
Like, if you had the fastest time among the Americans, but say for example, Nagano beat it faster than you. It wouldn't matter to G4, so you'd still get the 250k.
But given what G4's doing, it makes sense that it's just between the G4 competitors.
