The point I'm trying to make is if you CAN use the \o/ Swing o// Jump method use it.. You can still do it with hands together and jump.. If Takeda doing it 3 times (Like I already mentioned) and Kenji and Levi being close (Like I also already mentioned) weren't enough... Watch ANY UCH clearing vid.. You'll notice when you're on a 15cm long ledge you have to jump from that your hands will be together.. Think about it...

I semi-agree. It can be faster and more efficient, but if you just plain don't like it, there's no point in doing it.
It's not the same. When you're on a normal ledge, keeping your hands together makes it hard to gather momentum. Swinging from the tiny intermediate ledge is super easy.
The ability to swing with your hands close together doesn't really need to be practiced, in my opinion, but it wouldn't hurt either.

Yes I agree Rider. All I said was that the other way was probably easier. I'm not sure what your rebuttal is for.

I agree with your result, but the logic by which you came about getting that result is strange. Just because the cliffers use it doesn't mean it's the best. There really is no best. Preference and skill have to be taken into account. Kenji Takahashi, anyone?

Ok, well there is no way to determine who is the best but the UNCLI have much experience.

I agree with that, but that doesn't mean their technique is simply "the best". I would say David has more experience than I do with the Salmon Ladder, neither of our techniques are better. They each have their own pros and cons.
I do want to try that reaching technique, though. I personally like jumping, but it looks fun...

I do want to try that reaching technique, though. I personally like jumping, but it looks fun... That line pretty much proves how pointless this debate is.. Why are we arguing over personal preference? Say you're supposed to clear by jumping yet Kenji reached 2 out of 3 times he cleared and failed when jumping so for him reaching is better than jumping.. We going to tell him to jump and fail when he has a SCH strategy?

We're not arguing about personal preference. We're not arguing at all, actually.

First off... why was a 5 months topic bumped and turned into a "debate" in the first place?
Neither of these actions makes a lot of sense to me...
