Who doyou think were good enough to be all stars in competitons 1-4? You are aloud to put down people who competed in more than those competitions, but have it based on their performances from 1-4. Mine:
Katsumi Yamada Shingo Yamamoto Kazuhiko Akiyama Akira Omori Ken Hasegawa

According to TBS there was only 1 during that time period. Kane Kosugi From there once he left it was the 6 you know. TBS's requirement for the title is much different that most people think. It's the most popular and the most done for Sasuke in terms of promotion.

Elsie, He's saying who COULD be a 1-4 All-Star. If you ask me, I'd say:
Akiyama Oomori Akira Eiichi Miura Shingo Hasegawa Ken(dude never failed before the Pipe Slider) Yamada Katsumi
But, that's just my opinion.

I always thought 4-8 was his major time in the spotlight. But really what do I know.

I guess I get ticky with it because every few months we have this conversation.. then when I ask what is your definition of an All-Star I get 10 different answers. So I defer to the ones who MADE the title and what their definition is. Some would do popularity and others strictly results and given that most people here do not know anything about the competitors other than what Ninja Warrior has shown they totally miss the implications of having certain people in their show.. especially someone like Kane Kosugi who at that time was in his prime in another Monster 9 show - Sportsman #1 and was HUGE in Japan AND the son of a very famous man in his own right.

"SASUKE All-Star" in SASUKE 1-4 meant that they performed well and were consistently given a number in the 90s. While the term wasn't officially used until the 6th tournament (which at that time, had members Yamada, Yamamoto, and Akiyama), before that Kane Kosugi and Omori Akira were at least treated like All-Stars.
If there were ever "former" All-Stars, those two would be it.

Eiichi Miura was my fave from that time! The Takeda of construction workers! (Makes you wonder why we don't see more/any construction workers in more recent Sasukes.)

well, yeah, the only time the guy didn't make it too the third stage was when he(very humorously) failed the Maruta Nobori.
BTW, Kane didn't make my list cause he only competed twice, 1 and 4.
