While watching the show the other day, my mom asked an interesting question. It was one of the few that I did not know the exact answer to, so I thought I'd present it to everyone here and ask for opinions.
Hibari is a transsexual, a man who is now physically a woman. If she/he/it wanted to while he/she/it still competed, would she/he have been allowed to compete on Kunoichi should he/she have desired to do so?

I don't really think so, because technically she was/is a man. In any of the records, Hibari is not listed among women who have made it farthest on the course, so I don't know if she would actually be allowed to compete in Kunoichi.

45 X chromosomes 1 Y chromosomes
MALE. Elective surgery and hormone therapy do not change this fact.
That said, use of "he" or "she" isn't meant to be a judgment call about the genetics of a given person, and mistakes happen in gender-assigned pronouns every day that are no big deal. Even though she is male, I'll use "she" under the assumption that she at some point requested the female pronoun to be used by the announcer, etc.

I think that its based on what you have and not your chromosomes, so technicly that would make them (See, Singular They, Although I was thinking the same thing as Ube before he posted) female even though technicly male, although considering said person was born male, I think that means Kunoichi is out (If they even care). And calling him/her "it", is just asking to post this pic

Why can't we refer to this person as Hibari? Or Igano-san. Last time I checked, that was gender-neutral.
I'm willing to bet that, if they needed to, discouraged Hibari from auditioning for Kunoichi, simply because it was an issue that was just not going to resolve itself well. (But only if they had to)

In my opinion Hibari is a woman, so she has the whole right to take part in kunoichi.

Wasn't Hibari referred to as a "she" during her time on Sasuke (or at least, Ninja Warrior, which probably means nothing)?
Even so, I don't see her on Kunoichi.

Awhile back, there was an issue with a transsexual tennis player who wanted to play as a woman and they let her.
Personally, the whole scenario creeps me out, but I think Hibari should be allowed to compete in Kunoichi.

I think she should be allowed because legally she/he/it is a woman.
But a more important question is does she want to do kunoichi and due to her not being in sasuke since around the 14th tournament I don't think she wants to do kunoichi.

I think she last appeared in the 12th, when she failed the Warped Wall again.

She was in 14 too. While she was completely cut, you can see her numerous times in the audience/background/opening "100 fists". Only in the TBS broadcast though.
