He was on the British one I know the UK version Total Wipeout people have to be over 18. Our auditions were simply a case of swallow your pride and go make an idiot of yourself. ;D

Just in case you didn't know the 4th season of wipeout is starting a bit sooner than usual. news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20101014/tv_nm/us_wipeoutAlso I remember Jon on total wipeout, iirc he won his episode and also had a memorable round on the dreadmill (Which is a bit different on total wipeout)

So you actually made it not only to the show, but were one of the final 4? And which episode were you in jongoodall? I was in series 2 episode 6. Yeah i made the final and won it. I was originally just hoping to make the sweeper so was really shocked to make the final. Was even more shocked when Amanda said i won it. Then i had to go back for the Champion Of Champions show and came 6th. I went out on Sweeper as it was top 5 for Dizzy Dummies. Bar was at max height and max speed and still 9 of us left, then in a single rotation the field went from 9 to 1 left thanks to a massive pile up. Was still really good fun ;D Type 'Total Wipeout Series 2 Episode 6' into youtube and it's there in 6 parts. Here's my qualifier run (nickname Rowing Jon) Wipeout Zone: Rob went first, then Benny, then it was me. Had so much fun out there but the flights back and forth to Argentina was a bit tiring as it was 16hrs each way and just 5 days after getting home from winning my first show I had to fly back with the other champs so about 64hr flying in a 2 week period. I'd recomend it to anyone. It's so much fun. There is lots of waiting around on set as it's filmed over 2 days (qualifier on day 1, the rest on day 2) but still brilliant!

Yeah that Dreadmill was a bit of a scary one. As Chris won the Sweeper they put all our names into a hat and Chris had a pull a name out of the hat. I jokingly said 'knowing my luck it'll be me' and he pulled my name out of the hat. Neither of us really wanted to face each other. In fact what you see on the show was our 2nd attempt. We both jumped the start so they had to stop it, call us back then tell us to wait for the Klaxon! I felt my only chance was to keep sprinting, get to the end and see if i'd done enough. After going thru door 2 i thought i heard a splash but didn't wanna look so just made sure i got to the end. Then looked to see Chris had demolished the door so ran back to see if he was ok only for production to shout at me saying " Jon, get back here we need to film you celebrating making the final" so i jumped around and went all bonkers for them. As pleased as i was to make the final I would have loved to see Chris in the final too as i think he would have clocked a fast time and probably would have done real well in the champs show. It's just a shame that only 1 of us could go thru.

Is there by chance any way I can see this episode? It's really exciting to have someone who won UK Wipeout on here and I'd really like to see you win (Or if you don't have clips, do you remember the airdate?)

Thank you so much for uploading! It's amazing how differently UK Wipeout is run as compared to US Wipeout. Also sad to see you go in the Sweeper

Your run in part two of the champions show was great, Jon. Loved your landing at the end.

Yeah there are quite a few differences from the US to UK version. Dreadmill they wanted as a straight race as opposed to a time trial, but then they only used Dreadmill once in series 3 so i guess they decided it wasn't such a great idea afterall.
I was half asleep on the champs show. I'd only been back from Argentina for 5 days before i had to fly back out again and it was 16hrs each way. Some of the other guys had almost a month between both shows but as mine was near the end of the series (show 6) i had the least recovery time. Show 7-8 finalists weren't flown home. They just stayed out there and waited for us to arrive.
That qualifier was funny. Was cursing myself as i kept falling off everything. By the time i was on the rope swing I didn't hold out much hope but then had an idea while in mid air of using my right foot to slam into podium and left foot to land. Was nice to have something actually go right on that run!
Tightrope was evil. Obviously we dont get any practice at the course and they did tightrope just for our show. They gathered us around and said "Right.... get across the tightrope however you wish, but if any of your body touches the mud you have to let go and swim thru the mud...... oh and by the way, the rope will drop by about 1ft when you land on it.... good luck!"
Although none of us were allowed to watch anyones qualifier run i did see the state some were in after finishing. The amount of rope burns was unreal. Some nasty. I decided to grease my arms and legs to reduce rope burn which defo helped as i hardly got any rope burn.
If anyone wondered how high sweeper is, the starting height was just below knee level for me (im 6ft) while at max height it was about 110-115cm. Belly button height for me. Something i tried in the gym was stacking up 2 sets of 5 Reebok steps and put a bar across them. Thats 100cm tall. Then i added a couple weight blocks and got height upto 110cm. I got some funny stares from people in the gym doing that..... even more so when i tried practicing for the balls using 8 swiss balls and about 30 reebok steps!
Met some great people out there and still keep in touch with a few of them. Loads of joking around. Not sure if im allowed to put pics on here but on flight out there they decided to draw stuff on my head while i was asleep. I got off plane and thru customs with everyone smiling at me.... I met production who then suggested i look in a mirror. Lets just say they drew gentleman parts on my head!!! lol
Only spotted this forum last week as some of us wondered how to apply for Sasuke. Really good forum here! Would love a go at the Sasuke course.... would be chuffed to even clear 1 or 2 obstacles on the qualifier!
