I was watching the video of him missing kanzenseiah a few days ago and realized that the rope was swinging side to side and when he reached the top the rope was on the opposite side and he couldn't reach the button. Watch it and you'll see it.

That's actually the fact that caused his loss. Almost everyone knew that.
