I watched Naganos 21s 3d stage run live somewhere. I knew that it aired that day and I looked for it. (of course i didnt know about this site). I saw the rest and 22,23 on youtube. I wonder if anybody saw it in Japan for the first time. Like when sasuke 14 or something aired in Japan. Long before it aired here.

Didn't we have this thread already? Anyway.. My first NW was Sasuke 11 with Akiyama returning to the 2nd stage after what felt like a lifetime.. but I saw Viking first so I thought it was the same show... I think it was sometime Summer/Fall 2007 I think. I lost track since I saw Viking earlier on ESPN. I didn't go hardcore Sasuke everything until December, 2007 though.
My first live Sasuke was Sasuke 20.

I don't remember which NW/Sasuke it was since I was just watching 'cool they still do these stuff'
The reason why I liked it though, was because I watched something like this all along.
In South Korea when I was about 5 (about 14~15 years ago), they did something very similar to Banzuke, except it was limited to Dads. I remember one summer day where they set up a special stage behind my apartment in the local park in Korea. I thought it was that show, so we went down to take a look. Turns out, it was Domino hill with 3 stages. I also watched Legends of Hidden Templel from the American channel that they have in Korea (yet I cried when Templeguards showed up... good times). I also watched few episodes of Global Guts and some show I can't recall (something 2000... if someone can name this show I would be appreciated, and no not Double Dare)
And then came Dream Team
(This is beginning of Season 2)
This was more like Sportsman No.1 stuff, except celebrities go against groups such as National Ski Team, the Army, the Special Force, some local sports team etc.
After moving to America, I constantly watched Legends of Hidden Temple since I realized that it was airing on Nick GAS (They should bring it back... seriously). And then came Viking. I didn't think much to myself for viking however, since ESPN announcers did not bring that much excitement into the show itself. I did, however, enjoy the show. It just felt like 'eh, another obstacle show' since I watched a LOT of them, starting when I was 5.
And then I saw this:
It's called Super Viking (VERY ORIGINAL >_>), and yes it involved celebrities. This is Stage 1. There are only 2 stages and there aren't that hard obstacles, but I liked it. It was fun to watch, I liked the celebrities etc.
After it was canceled, the next obstacle show I watched was Ninja Warrior.
I personally liked the channel G4 due to TechTV stuff and happened to just watch the show when I was bored. Turns out to be another obstacle show, yet this line caught my attention: Nobody, except one, has beaten the entire course. The final stage preview in the intro (the newer intro) also caught my attention.
So I started my search for NW episodes online (after seeing couple of them, including 17) and then came across theguy's videos. Then these forums.
My first live SASUKE was 21, and started to broadcast SASUKE to people who doesn't have the program from 22 till to this date.

I was flipping through channels at my dads house, and I passed ninja warrior. I was about to switch to the next channel but my brother said "Wait! I was gonna tell you about this show, it's ninja warrior, blah blah blah" so I got interested.
I love obstacles courses, and I loved anything asian at that point, so I was hooked obviously.
Not only that, but it was a freakin marathon, it was showing all weekend, and I literally watched it all weekend with my brother and dad and his girlfriend.
My first competitions was I think 11... or whatever had the dancing bridge in it that lasted only 1 tournament.
The first person I saw clear was Daisuke, and then Naoki. Daisuke was the name of a character from some anime I liked, so he was my first "favorite". Then after we watched a lot of episodes we started to recognize this gas station guy. He was on like every episode so we would root for him. He always had amazing stage 2 runs, and he quickly became my brother's favorite.
My 3rd favorite was the swimmer instructor guy, but I forget his name now. Kosuke Yamguchi? I don't know.
We would yell at the T.V. about how easy the course was and how I could do it, blah blah blah. (Was in for a reality check later on obviously) and I was always mad because no one would EVER REACH THE FINAL STAGE.
I started watching the marathon on like friday night, and it wasn't until late sunday that I finally saw the final stage, and was mad because it ended just as quickly as it started.

It was American Gladiators for kids, equally as trimmed down/f!#)ed up too. It also featured some of the actual American Gladiators. ... and Ryan Seacrest hosted it :/. IIRC there was also Wheel 2000 (Wheel of Fortune for Kids). They all came on Bailey Kipper's POV, I think. PROTIP: Much earlier in the morning, before Bailey Kipper, before Gladiator/Wheel 2000, Tales From the Crypt, the Game Show, also for kids, called: Secrets of the Cryptkeepers Haunted House No, I'm NOT kidding. [edit] Don't believe me?

My first one? Well if I recall correctly I think it was Sasuke 15 because I remember Shiratori's heatstroke and the fact that for some reason I thought Shunsuke was gay.

I know Ryan Seacrest hosted a game show called "Click" but that never featured American Gladiators: Everyone marvel at Ryan's glorious hair style.

First time I tuned in was Shingo's 2nd stage run at 13. That was painful! It was just cool seeing a dude in a gas station uniform tear up the course like that.

I saw Ninja Warrior 19, I pretty sure it was around Christmas time. I just remember NO ONE being able to beat the course. Koji Yamada stood out most for his physique and clearing Stage 1. (Brett Sims shorts came in a close 2nd)
Then, after only two Stage 1 clears I saw the Salmon Ladder and I knew there was a God, and he was pleasantly evil.
I was hooked on it then, but never followed up to see other ones until I stumbled on Ninja Warrior again a few years.

IIRC, the first competition that I saw was Sasuke 8 on G4 around summer/fall of 2007. I only remember this because I can recall seeing Jordan Jovtchev and Kane Kosugi on the Final Stage in one of the first tournaments (if not the first one) that I watched. Since then, I've only become more and more hooked to this awesome show, though I think I only started training for it back around summer of 2008. Surprisingly, I didn't come across this site until last fall. Ah, this all brings back memories... Thats like exactly my story. lol. I started watching around the same time as you. I didnt even know this forum existed. I watched 21, 22, and 23 on youtube. Then i had enough of getting 'spoiled'. Im sure i woulda found it much earlier but i never posted or read on g4 forums. I actually don't remember how I found this place either, probably theguy7121 linked it.

I found it because we all hated the G4 forums so I was like "If we all hate this forum, why don't we make our own?" and Scnoi was all like "ohgawd that is such an ingenious idea, omg k lets do it".
And thus, Sasukemaniac was formed.
