Every competitor who reached the Salmon Ladder tried to clear it the same way.
Everyone went to the top of the first ladder, turned around, jumped, then climbed up the second ladder.
I think it would be better to climb the first Salmon Ladder only part way, turn around, then jump to the bottom of the second ladder and climb up.
It seems it would be easier to turn around and make the jump when you're less tired at the beginning. Also, it would be a more natural transition to the Unstable Bridge.
Any thought?

Could be easier, but if so don't think the jump is nearly tiring enough that doing it early would have a large difference in effect. Could be wrong but makes sense to me. The only downside I see for your idea is if your not high up enough, then jump across and dont make the rungs you aimed at, you could fall right in instead of landing on the rungs below(that doesnt look like it would be a problem unless you jump right off the bat though). I wouldn't mind watching someone do it that way just to see if they show any less struggle nonetheless though.

You know.. there might be a provision in the rules that you HAVE to complete both sides of the salmon ladder.. or at the very least.. the first ladder to the top then turn around.

If you miss the jump at the top, there are rungs below to potentially catch you. If you miss it at the bottom, no such luck.

Everyone has made good suggestions. I didn't even think about having a "safety net" of extra rungs to catch you if you miss the jump.
