Now that we've seen the first two stages in action, which obstacles do you think should go? The Balance Tank has no business being in the course still, so I say it should go. Also I think the Log Grip will get replaced with the Jumping Spider or some other spider walk obstacle. Any others?

Balance Tank served its purpose. It was a time waster and took out a New Star and an All Star.

I am very suprised there was no spider climbing at all, I think 26 will put that beck to be honest. Balance tank totally should have not been there but I get the feeling that it will be there in 26 because of what happened on it. Only other real change I see is maybe making it harder to fail the pipe slider in stage 2(but probably not). I'd prefer if they made the slider jump there instead. And then maybe adding more steps to the sextuple step again, they made it harder per step but I wouldn't be suprised if we get a few more of them altogether next time.

They need to get rid of the Metal Spin. Maybe they can put some Jumping Spider action in its place.
And as sacrilegious as this probably sounds, they should get rid of the Wall Lifting.
I thought it was cool that the Circle Slider became the new/old obstacle to fear.

Maybe some small changes in the first two stages, but it'll probably be around the same difficulty. I imagine they want to give people as much chance as possible to clear the UCH, so it doesn't become stagnant, ending there every tournament.
As for what I think should go, Rolling Log is first on the list, since it's the easier log obstacle and has the biggest potential for mechanical error. If it was up to me I'd swap the Jump Hang with Jumping Spider, although I still like the Jump Hang, and make the Bridge Jump a bit harder (one more plank, longer jump, shorter rope). Balance Tank maybe, but since it took out 2 people, it should probably stay on principle. Honestly I'd make the Salmon Ladder a tad harder too, but that's not going to happen.

The rolling log almost wiped out some great competitors. Like Lee and Tajima. Maybe switch the rolling log and log grip?

@intelligent: Im not counting the final stage when I said that, I just meant on the first two courses(3rd stage too, but I think spider climbing on stage 1 would be weird).
I think the jump hang and Spider climb are good to stay in at the same time. Personally I would like to have a spider climb directly after the unstable bridge so you have to jump into it and latch on right away. That would help with the classic feel considering the spider climb was always a stage 2 obstacle anyway.

I agree here, I think they might make a small change to the Cliff Hanger just so people won't keep failing there at the end of every tournament, and maybe give a chance to see what the other new obstacle are like.

It would be silly to change the cliff-hanger. They didn't change the shin-cliffhanger and it took what, 4 tournies to beat it? This is the same feeling as back then. Besides, the cliff-hanger wasn't as hard as it seemed, people weren't used to the first 3 obstacles, so they got tired out more than they should've. By the time Lee ran it looked like he sort of got a rythmn going, but it wasn't enough.
If Yuuji got there in 26 he could probably put a good attempt.

In stage 1, i think the rolling log needs to go and move the log grip to that spot then add an obstacle after it, then replace the jump hang with the jumping spider. Make the bridge jump's rope farther away, maybe a wall redesign, keep the last 3 Obstacles.
In stage 2 i would say flying chute into metal spin and a new final obstacle.
And in stage 3 keep it the same except either on the cliffhanger not make a angled wall for the first two ledges or make the 3rd ledge closer.

The angle of the first wall doesn't affect the actually ledge you hold onto BLM... we've established this. The only thing the angle does it keep you from using your feet and/or kicking the wall.

It looks like it actually pushes your fingers back a little and gives you less grip area: It certainly looks less than the previous ledge. All 4 were holding it differently than usual and looked like they were struggling for grip, not just from fatigue.

That is true obake, but it is not slanted like some of us originally thought. Though I agree you may have less room for your fingers... maybe like 2.5 cm instead of 3?

Stars? I didn't see many 'stars' out there today. Pathetic... You're just spoiled from getting 5 finalists last time...

I'd honestly like to see them get rid of the Floating Boards on Stage 3 and replace it with something more interesting. IMO, this was one of the most boring parts to watch during this competition, not to mention too tedious of an obstacle to have right before the Ultimate Cliff Hanger.
