We've had the Eye of the Needle (ignore for purposes of the topic), the Pipe Slider, and the Final/Gliding Ring as final third stage obstacles.
The "Final Leap" (as I call it) was all about distance. What I would love to see is an obstacle that would require distance AND control. By this, I mean have a small round landing platform (2 feet in diameter) that can be undershot AND overshot.
Think how painful it would be to actually go further than you need to on the third stage. And also think about all the tense "arms flailing" moments when everyone tries to get their balance.

And what do you leap off onto it? assuming you hang from something like the ring/pipe.

I like that idea alot, reminds me of the pole vault in Sasuke 4 where a guy actually overshot so hard he fell off the other side. I hope that actually is the way the new final obstacle works(only way I take this back is if the new final obstacle is much better, but obviously we currently have no idea what it is). I think what we leap off should be the grinding ring, but maybe shape it like a square instead of a ring to get a better hold when you push forward.

And what do you leap off onto it? assuming you hang from something like the ring/pipe. Well, it would have to be something at a pretty high speed. I think an even bigger gap than the Gliding Ring would be best. I can't really think of a specific obstacle, though. Maybe a very hard Rope Junction that ends with two ropes side by side to be used on the Final Leap.

How about off a Devil swing type bar?

I have something similair in my mock obstcale course that I make for my friends to run. The last obstacle in stage 3 is a curtain that you use to gain momentum like the gliding ring) then jump off and land on a 2 ft by 2 ft box. The distance is pretty wide and it's easy to overshoot and undershoot it.
So needles to say I like the idea having come up with something similair myself.
