1. Do they drug test for Sasuke? Has anyone ever been outed for performance enhancing drugs?
2. Why can't Akiyama wear glasses? What disease/whatever does he have?

1: I'm pretty sure this was covered before and it's the honor system used 2: Because it's a degenerative disease, glasses won't do anything to help him

I see no reason why he couldn't wear glasses. They would help tremendously. He would just need new ones every so often, depending on how quickly his sight is going. I know he's not made of money or anything, but the fact that it's a degenerative disease doesn't mean glasses won't help.

1. These are not the Olympics or an organized sport that's covered by or regulated by a doping governing body. So theres nothing to stop some a** from fillin up on staroids or whatever and doing the course? Thats kind of disappointing.

Aside from common sense.. if you haven't noticed being bulkier doesn't help you on the course.. if anything it would make it harder...

If you weigh 100 pounds and you take staroids, you won't gain pounds. At least thats what I thought though, it only gave you strength I assume. ...And acne.

Well fortunately/unfortunately it's not regulated by a governing body. One would hope that someone who abuses steroids will be suspended by their own governing body of sport. The regular joe schmos.. oh well. It's still a gameshow after all.

Wouldn't it give someone more muscle mass?.. I.E. bulk.. I.E. extra weight I.E. Screwed for Sasuke I.E. if somehow yuo made it to stage 3 like that the cliffhanger would have you down in a second or two

Steroids don't make you heavier?
Yeah JP, you don't really know what you're talking about. And if getting glasses was a solution to Akiyama's problem, don't you think he'd buy a pair of glasses instead of totally changing careers?
Use a bit of common sense bud.

Since Sasuke is a TV gameshow, i assume they do not have the budget or expertise or even the desire to do dope testing. Why would M9 or even TBS even bother? Even if they did do the testing, i don't think they will do all-year testing. That will simply bankrupt them. So IN THEORY, anyone can just take steroids year round to train & stop doping just before competition testing. I do not have the technical expertise to say if steroids is useful for Sasuke or not but I doubt any regular amateur will dope just for a TV gameshow ( not a paid pro athlete ). However if someone is crazy enough to risk his health for it...he needs to first get his brain checked.

I can't find anything specifically on Degenerative Retinoschisis and glasses. I found something similar, but it wasn't exactly the same thing. I'll take your words for it, though. Please stop being a borderline jerk, bud. JP, I'll try to explain it in a nicer manner. People typically use steroids because they just want to get bigger, faster. With bigger muscles comes more strength, but this is only a side effect. They usually just want the size. As for steroids helping in Sasuke, they could. If you were to continue training your strength, agility and power, your performance should be... well, enhanced. Not worth it in my opinion, though.

1. Honor Code, plus, they probably wouldn't help on the Salmon Ladder, when you have an extra hell of a lot of pounds.
2. Ever heard of someone with a detached retina? Akiyama has something like that.

I was about to make a topic myself about the performance enhancers and stuff lol. Obviously they wouldn't be worried about any of the All-stars, but it does make you wonder if any of the competitors have done anything.
And yeah Oti glasses do not help his condition. I have something similar with my eyes, though nowhere near as severe as Akiyama's condition, which is why he is such an inspiration to me.

Fair enough. I didn't know they didn't help.

First of all, I'm asking questions bud. When I say "I assume" that usually means "I kind of have no idea what I'm talking about." Thanks for all the responces everyone else. I mean thank you too Bada, I just kind of want to kick you in the nuts I thought, for whatever reason, that someone could use steroids during the course, not during training , and have alot of strength in your legs to jump on a trampoline and reach the Jumping Spider, or to fly over the Warped Wall. I didn't realize it was used for training. I'm fine with them not testing if thats the case. That would be a waste of time.

Oh, I see where you were coming from now. No, they don't work that way. They simply help muscles rebuild as big and fast as possible when recovering from a workout. The problem is, steroids may give you too much testosterone, which results in all those nasty side effects. Not really worth it in my eyes. I also agree that it would be a waste of time. I actually believe everyone professional athlete should be able to do steroids. If they want to... who cares. It makes for a better game.

Steroids have too many negative side effects. I for one would never take them. But hey, if someone wants to take all those risks more power to them. My gym coach took tons of steroids when he was in highschool and college sports, but he heavily regrets it.
Oti: Borderline jerk, haha. I don't know why that's so funny.

Degenerative retinochisis isn't quite the same as a detached retina. My younger sister and I are both severely nearsighted, and my sister has had three detached retinas; one when she was 8, and then two last fall, all in the same eye. She still wears glasses, though, because her main problem is nearsightedness. Glasses won't help Akiyama's condition. His condition isn't the same as having a detached retina, but it can lead to detached retinas. That's why he had to stop wrestling. Getting his head jostled a lot could cause him to have a detached retina, which can lead to blindness. My sister and I both did karate, but she had stop after having a detached retina back in August. She won't be able to do martial arts anymore. Even though her eye is healing, if she gets hit in the head, the retina could detach again. For both of us the main problem is nearsightedness, which has to do with the shape of the cornea. Akiyama's condition has to do with the retina, so it's not the same as being nearsighted.

I wasn't tested when I went over there. You could totally snort some meth before your run and get the best time!
