We are dealing with not only Sasuke 25 trials but the fate of my birthday! Awesome news, only 20% precipitation chance and the sunniest day of the week (not saying much if you think about it, though still good) It says partly cloudy, what do you mean by PM showers?

LOL I just read what it said for that day. Meaning after 5PM there's a chance of showers At least that's been the typical weather channel lingo for that phrase.

With the way the weather has been REALLY random here in the US (snow in the SE), it could be a possibility for there to be rain for a change after so long, so that's going to make things even more interesting once again.
Kind of like how we almost didn't have a previous tournament due to a lightning type storm that was so friggin close.

I remember them having something about that in the G4 preshow for it. Usually G4 isn't a credible source . But a bunch of shots of thunder and dark clouds over the course and the day being cloudy the rest of the tournament kind of are hard to fake

What are the rules on turning up for the trials? Obviously it's too late for me to attempt 25, but for 26 or 27, since after a few months (and repeated emails) I've had nothing back from M9 or "local broadcaster" on applications, I'm thinking of taking the trials route. What I'm wondering is: can just anybody turn up for the trials and sign up there, unannounced? Or will I need to get in contact beforehand?

AFAIK you need to send in a tape iirc there were 2000 entries for sasuke 22 with 60 being chosen for the trials. As for turning up chances are like a million to one of getting into the trials. First you will need the date that M9 only gives out to people in the trials (But there is always a few that cant keep there mouths shut). Then you would have to find the location (23 was in Midoriyama 22 was some athletics place) and I don't think anyone has leaked that before. Then the hardest part of all, actually being allowed to compete, sorry to say but I'm 98% sure you will be told to leave the premises, maybe if you sign a NDA you'll be allowed to watch or if your EXTREMELY lucky and alot of people don't turn up you'd probably be allowed to compete.

Actually, I'd be closer to 100% sure that you wouldn't be allowed to compete if they just showed up. I mean, just qualifying for trials is a 3% chance...it's basically like hoping the producers will let you compete if you just showed up at Sasuke. Same logic.

You cannot just show up for trials unannounced.. not only is it bad form it's rude. They chose those competitors out of 2000 and create a schedule with all the names and groupings specifically set up beforehand. As I expected the repercussions from not allowing foreign direct applications is going to turn ugly. I hope to God no one has the indecency of showing up to trials without being invited first. That's a closed set. Always was and always will be.

Well thanks for the info on that. I guess this makes things even more difficult.
Hope dwindles...

Sorry if it sounded snippy. Didn't intentionally mean that. I'm still hoping that pressure on M9 to give in will help since it's pretty clear that "local broadcasters" outside of the USA can care less.. wait.. USA doesn't give a S&*t either.. nevermind.. all of them don't care.. Hoping things change for 26 but yes please don't spend money to crash a closed course

Lol Ok. Out of interest, do you think the odds are higher if I apply for SASUKE directly, or if I apply for the Trials?

Lol Ok. Out of interest, do you think the odds are higher if I apply for SASUKE directly, or if I apply for the Trials? Either way, you'll either get no response or a "local broadcaster" copout reply. Unfortunately M9/TBS is strict, but fair. Can't only tell the US that they can only go through G4, while everyone else can directly reply. M9/TBS goes "either everyone does it, or no one" since G4 got more power. I still have some faith that G4 will buckle down and find a president that doesnt have this blind stereotype as who watches the channel, but the more they keep screwing over the show that helped them get more popular (because X-Play and AOTS can only help so much), the more often pieces of that faith disappear.

Unfortunately, agreed. And (not that I don't think you can do it) people who take on the Trials are REALLY thought people. It'd be insanely hard to do it.

Yeah, I know how tough the competition is; it was only after watching the 21 Trials on the site that I thought the Trials might be the way for me. The competition is tough, but I was able to point out at several parts where I could do better than numerous competitors. So maybe I'm ready. Maybe not. Either way, I'm growing very impatient and frustrated

No harm in sending in application and seeing if they accept your or not. The worst that can happen is they say "no".
And the more applications sent in, they'll know there is a high demand for foreigners.
If I were you, I'd send a video to both, directly to them and for trials.
I was going to do the same, but I was lazy and didn't think it'd be so soon, so I wasn't able to send mine in time.

You know what, Bada? You're absolutely right. I'll put a proper video together, raise some money (just in case), and apply for both. It'll either happen, or it won't. No sense in sitting here sulking, after all ^_^ Thanks.

Btw just to be clear. Application to Sasuke IS the application to Trials. M9 determines who goes to trials and if any are worthy of direct participation. There is no separate trials application.
