It's something I've been wondering about with the final stage.
For the ladder on the final stage, whenever I see it run, it always feels like doing it that way (one at a time) feels a bit slow. Has anyone tried leaping up the ladder...
both your feet are on the same rung while about 5 rungs up you're holding onto that one with both your hands, and you just pull/jump up about 3 rungs at a time, then you bring your hands up (both hands at the same time or to prevent from falling, one hand at a time, quickly) to the next few rungs and pull/jump up to the next and repeat.
It might burn up more energy, but would it be faster since you're clearing more rungs at a time, or would it take longer because you'd be trying to do more work?
I try to visualize it to see if it's faster or not, but it's kind of hard and I don't have one to practice on.
Any thoughts?

I would imagine the ladder would sway even more uncontrollably, with Nagano and Kanno's climb, the ladder swayed more than Yuuji, though that's more them being heavier than trying to rush (as neither of them were). Also, should your entire body be off the ladder even for a split second trying that way, you'll either fall or the producers might call a course-out on you (since you weren't transferring to the rope when you were off the ladder). It COULD be quicker as long as it's done right, but as you said, you could also potentially burn out faster, doesn't help it's late night/VERY early morning, your body is back and forth with adrenaline and just plain tiredness especially if you were there before they began taping, which would be the case. So, IMO, plausible but impractical (in the sense that it would be awkward if you do it wrong and you'll lose even more time or fall from the swaying of the ladder). Plus it probably would look stupid even if done right.

I say no. You have no rythm, and the laddder would likely sway more.
It seems pretty stable, but watch nagano's run, it's already swaying a lot, he's just good at keeping it steady.
Skipping rungs is just akward and you may mess up.
It has the potential of being faster, but I'm not sure if I'd risk it.

You can establish a rhythm.
If you practice it, there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to do it on the final stage.

I thought about that a lot of times watching Kunoichi. That might work, and it might work even better if you put your hands on the sides of the ladder, not on the rungs. Even though I don't know if that would be considered a course-out.

It seems when you climb a rope ladder, you have to have your foot solidly placed on the rung before you move up. Jumping up the ladder would shake it around wildly.

Actually .. you can't put your hands on the side of the ladder.. that's a course out (iirc).

Actually .. you can't put your hands on the side of the ladder.. that's a course out (iirc). ghah. Too bad. I remember girls in kunoichi doing that, tho. Now that I think about that, nearly none of them put their hands on the rungs.

Now that I think about that, nearly none of them put their hands on the rungs. In Kunoichi they pretty much just were rope climbing up the side but standing on the rungs, I don't know why you'd think Sasuke would let you do the same thing, for the final stage no less... Actually .. you can't put your hands on the side of the ladder.. that's a course out (iirc). If it wasn't don't you think Urushihara would have tried it? And to be honest I think doing it like that would make it slower and probably harder. considering you'd be pulling the ladder at the top of your weight and pushing with your legs. That's just asking for the ladder to go like \
