Here's my first training video. It's more a test than anything else, I decided to make a video when I was already tired and my hands hurt a lot, as you can see. I usually do a 20 second dead hang before coming down after going up, but I could barely hang on. First part: a kind of warm up I do a few times before starting. Second part: Salmon Ladder-like climb.
In a week I might do something more serious, I'll probably meet with a friend next monday and take some training videos outside.

YOU'RE LIKE A SPIDER MONKEY!
The jumping climb was nice. Very impressive. Good job.

Excellent. Your climbing skills are undoubtedly top-notch, and the Salmon Ladder-esque technique is also very impressive. I only wish I had similar stairs to train on; perfect Devil Steps training. Perhaps I should upload a video or two of my Cliff Hanger training, if I have a recording device somewhere.

Hahaha thanks Oti! I found out that that climb is like what you said about the Spider Flip: more scary than dangerous. There are two things that I was afraid about: missing the step and falling, obviously, and making too much noise...those stairs do a hell of a chaos when hit, and for my parents it's really annoying: if I want to train, I have to do it as much quietly as I can, so I focused on doing it with smooth moves, and realized it helps a lot in order to save energies: if I do a smooth move, I'll spend less time trying to get stable again for the next jump. P.S. @scoped_knife didn't see your post. Thanks =) unfortunately, my climbing skills could improve a lot...when training for devil steps I still can't one hand it, mostly cause I need a lot more of strenght since my arm is too short to easily reach the other step. I have to do a climb of this kind: step 1 to step two: left hand, right hand. Step 2 to step 3: left hand, right hand, etc.etc.

Lol, that's fine. It's good to use a technique to compensate until you can perform the technique proper. Out of interest, can you hang from one arm? If so, hang from one arm and swing to get the momentum up to the next step (until you have the strength to do it properly). If not, keep working on you arms until you can! Now I may go off and do some practice myself.

yep, I'm working on my strenght to be able to hang on one arm, but also working on another similar tecnique, wich is difficult to explain. Good training =)

Well that's the way to do it! It really does annoy me that there's nowhere I can go to practice Devil Steps though. The underside of a good staircase is an invaluable training tool

I wish I had more stuff to train on at my house...(sigh). Anyway, getting back on topic, great job on this...I'm sure you'll continue to improve more over time with your training skills. Ugh...I REALLY need to make a training video soon. I need a different perspective on it, both figuratively AND literally (i.e. opinions and non-first-person view of things that I'm doing).

Nice job! Especially on that Salmon Ladder-like climb. It looked tough and fun ;D. Keep up the hard work. I've got some videos that I have on my computer. However, I haven't uploaded them onto youtube, and it's been a while since I put them on my computer and yet I still haven't uploaded them haha.

Hahaha cutie. The thing that makes me laught the most is that when I climb it's neearly exactly the same lol
Anyway, today me and a friend went out and pulled a 50/50 mess around/training day, bringing his camera with us and filming something. Too bad we weren't filming when a couple of good things came up. He had to go back at home and couldn't leave me the camera, so I'll upload it the next time I meet him, wich I don't know when it will be, unfortunately.
P.S. another thing. I can hang with one hand only from a tree branch (that I can't entirely grip with my hand, so that's not the matter), but I can't from a step. Wtf???

It's probably just the surface area.

My guess is because your crushing grip (tree branch) is better than your support grip (step).
I can hang from both, but you're right. Ledges, like your steps, are harder.
