Browsing through the Japanese wiki (spoiler: Sasuke 24 ratings stunk), I noticed something... interesting. There traditionally was a Monster Box World Championship held on Olympic years, but not during 2008. One could infer that this could be one of those and my prior ponderings that M9 is getting out of TV were inaccurate.

Btw if ya'll are interested. Seems Oyama (the same guy that won the Monster Box comp this year) broke the 24 box barrier. www.musclemusical.com/news/3469 Of course it's not official simply because it wasn't in a tournament but still impressive nonetheless.

Hey it would be nice if they had another this year.. I always panic when I don't hear anything but Sportsman is known for just appearing out of nowhere. It's not like they do applications.. it's an invite only event. But I'm sure they will do something if not to mention this or bring him back to do the 24 jump when it counts. Though I do want it to be a full tourney.. as much as I adored watching the All-stars doing the monster box.. I do miss the real big event they usually have.

I wonder if the 2011 one will have someone like Levi or Brian. Ooh maybe they'll have PAT.

Uhm Arsenette, Levi IS a pro. While he is a Pro Free-Runner.. I kind of doubt that counts as a professional sport.. It's closer to Stunt-Man than Sports really..

Still a pro. Toured with madonna, been on multiple TV Shows, ads, and movies.
And been to a ton of free running competitions.
Only thing is it's not as popular as maybe soccer or baseball obviously but still a sport.

Only thing is it's not as popular as maybe soccer or baseball obviously but still a sport. Last time I checked it doesn't have a worldwide organization with rules and regulations and tournaments that are tied to the Olympic Organization. Given that this is basically what they consider a "Pro" athlete I doubt M9 would invite them. The whole point of inviting a pro is to get a recognizable face and ultimately get viewers (and sponsors in Japan to pay for the advertising). Levi and Brian are not up there yet. Not even close.

I never said they were, and obviously they won't get invited, I'm just saying they are "pro".

Levi is more likely to get an invitation to be on the Muscle Musical than he would to Sportsman.
Sportsman doesn't do "extreme."
Li would be a better choice than any of the free-runners.

Are you sure Ube? I think Levi and Brian has just as much of a chance as Li or Rich. They can have a similar chance to Kuramochi or Harashima, or even Aoki.

So you're practically saying they won't have a chance at all aside from a couple instances? That's more an insult to Levi and Brian than you're implying. They've picked guys like older wrestlers (late wrestler Mitsuharu Misawa competed in the 2009 event), but they have name value.

Are you really sure? I'm just sayin' I'm confused. Li and PAT have a chance. But Brian and Levi don't. I don't get it.
