I've heard a few people say that the only reason they brought kevin and olivia along was because SASUKE focuses more on comedy. How true can that be when they completely skipped their runs along with the octopus, the sculptor guy, and others.
Maybe i read people's posts wrong but i could have sworn i read in a few places that in Japan they focus more on the comedic contestants. It doesnt seem that way at all though.

It seems they like the joke competitors but for 21 they kept it mostly serious, Although the bodyguard who couldn't get his cloths off in time was funny. I was thinking through his run "Okitani 2.0?" XDXDXD

They made 9 people pass stage 2 this time... they didn't have time for the other competitors sadly...
I would've loved to see hangglider, sculptor, Korriki, and Octopus
(Granted they all competed) but they didn't have quite enough time... and they don't choose how many commercial breaks they have or anything, if they wanted to fit those guys in they would've had to buy another hour time slot, which would've been good considering they skipped a ton of good competitors, but that's too long for some people who really want to see it all, not to mention it'd go to midnight, and it'd be a lot of money.
Ube, let us know when the ratings come in =] wanna see if they've improved from 14%

Well whoever said that Sasuke focuses more on comedians in the first place doesn't really know what they're talking about. True, they focus more on them during the 1st half of Stage 1, but that's when most of them go anyway. Sasuke 21 definitely focused more on the serious competitors than anything. They kinda rushed through Stage 1 to make time for the later stages, which is good. Most of the time though, they do focus on the serious competitors as that is what drives there show. Only they can get deep into the later stages, which as you saw, makes great TV.

Sounds bad, but if you think about 14% that's pretty good. Ube said it was like the most watched channel or something... I don't quite remember, clarification Ube please!

Ratings haven't come in yet for 21. Sasuke 20 had a 14.4% rating, making it the least watched Sasuke tournament. Hopefully 21 is higher than that.

Hate to be the bringer of bad news, guys. Sasuke 21's rating was 12.2%, over 2% under last time and lower than Kunoichi 7.

However, possible explanation: Around Nagoya, where CBC was supposed to broadcast Sasuke, there was a baseball game that went overtime (or something), so they only started showing Sasuke from the 2nd stage (around 21:10 Japan time).

Where did you get the ratings number from davidyko? How did the show compare to whatever else was on at the time? There was a Quiz Hexagon special on at the same time and Quiz Hexagon has been one of the highest rated shows on Wednesday nights anyway.
And SASUKE was scheduled to go on around 9:00 according to the CBC schedule anyway. On the other hand, depending on the area, you can catch various stations that carry the same programming - I can get both the TBS affiliates for Yamaguchi and Fukuoka here.

Well, it was on the Japanese wiki, so that's where I got it from. I checked a few websites, and they only have ratings until the 14th, so I guess it'll be a few days until we have more data.
