I was suspicious if the landing mat had been moved about a foot further than it was in 22 - this comparison pic I made is the best one I could come up with to judge, there to me anyway is definatly a bit more distance this time round.

Although it is the leap of faith I had envisioned (for about a year) would be required from all the momentum you could get off that ring, this change is normal. The pipe slider platform always got farther.

I think after seeing Yuuji easily stick the landing in 22, they decided to move it back for 23.

Oh I approve of them making it a bit harder Just showing the picture confirms it!
Poor Kongu though one more swing and he would have made it I think!

The difference in length makes it harder, but not by much.
It's nowhere near how hard the pipe slider was when they moved it back.
The only difference here is you may have to hold onto the ring for an extra 5 seconds to build enough momentum, that's not too much of a challenge...
I hope people don't start over-rating this obstacle, thinking it's a ninja killer.

I def do not think its as hard as the pipe slider but its a elegant way to finish the stage and this could also be the thing to finally give Takeda his big break in 24 he gets nearer everytime, he had problems with the pipe slider but he could beat this thing for sure.

Back when we still had the Pipe slider in stage 3 that people think is so dreaded, we had obstacles like the more simple Cliffhanger when we now have the Shin Cliffhanger. We had Jumping bars but now we have jumping bars Hang Climbing and Spider Flip with no rest area. All this more than makes up for having no uncooperative Pipe at the end of stage 3.

Venus, I have to disagree with you.
While the new stage has some harder parts, the older stage 3 beats it by a mile.
1. The body prop, much harder than descending globe grasp or devil steps.
2. Curtain Cling, despite popular belief this is definately harder than the cliffhanger, maybe not the SCH but easily the old one.
And it still takes more strength, just less technique.
3. The pipe slider. Again, this is WAY harder than the gliding ring, way way way harder, it's not even a comparison.
PLUS even though there are 2.5 obstacles in a row there is a drawback to that. After completing the 2.5 obstacles you get about a minute to rest, then you only have to complete .5 obstacles to get another minute of rest. Basically if you get to the top of the spider flip there isn't much reason to fail. Fatigue sets in but you only have half an obstacle to do before getting another resting period, and then doing the easiest obstacle in stage 3 after having roughly 2 minutes of pure rest beforehand.
Sorry, over-all I'd say shin Sasuke is hardly purely based on stage 1 and 2, but the new stage 3 needs a difficulty increase if it ever hopes to be as effective as the old one.
I can't do the body prop... at all. I can't do the Curtain cling... at all. But I CAN do the devil steps and descending globe grasp. Quite easily might I add.
And honestly, it doesn't take much strength to dangle from a bar... so even if you're tired once you reach the gliding ring you shouldn't simply let go... that would make you seem like a total wimp. Takahashi could've held on for another 3 seconds and made it but he didn't, either he was tired, or he thought he had enough momentum to make it.
I don't think it's too much of debate, I'll always say the old stage 3 > the new one, especially Sasuke 14's stage 3 where it had more jumping bars and the rumbling dice... man that had to have been tough.

The curtain cling is nowhere near the cliff-hanger The cliff-hanger in 4 is harder than it So i have to disagree with you there

I have a cliffhanger like the one from 17, and it's not hard to hang up a curtain. I've tried both, so how can I be WRONG? I can beat my cliff-hanger, I can't even get halfway on the curtain cling. Besides it's an opinion, I can't be "wrong".

I agree completely, aside from the fact that the final stage is also boring and easy. By easy, I mean all it does is time you out because you climbed a ladder and/or rope slowly. I think the three rope rumor would have been perfect.
But yeah. Stage three. Needs to be way harder. I mean, it's stage THREE. There should be things that young teens (Rider, Badalight) and average athletes (myself) shouldn't be able to do so easily.

Could I see a picture of the Curtain Cling Badalight? I'm just curious is all.
But I do agree, the old third stage is way harder, but I think when they use an obstacle too much, they have to throw it away due to ratings. People are going to get bored of it, even if it is incredibly hard, and they just happen to come up with ideas that are easier than their previous ones. But to make it harder, it was better to put three obstacles back to back.
Though after seeing the results from 23. I think they will change something in the 3rd stage for 24. I HOPE anyway. We need something different there. At least one new obstacle.

You're an idiot you know that? These obstacles have to be performed after doing stage 1 AND 2 previously. These young teens are light people who don't have to carry much body weight. (Nagano does well because he's tiny) Young people like you and I aren't heavy individuals. the reason lighter people don't show off on stage 3 obstacles is because they fail stage 1, or the salmon ladder in stage 2 at best. People who get to the 3rd have to have a Mix of proper abilities. And by the way, have any of you teens done these stage 3 obstacles all in a row the way it's done on the real thing?

I certainly think body prop is a great obstacles. Took out quite a few in the past.

I think one change in stage 3 is needed I say a downwards body prop instead of the globes, everything else is fine to me!
And I like the final stage its has hard as the old one especially now - but I do agree it would be more amusing if they cut the rope still - the price of failure no baby making tools for you! lol

Gliding ring reminds me of how Nagano faced a gliding ring that can't glide.

You do realize we've trained for these obstacles, I remember when I first tried to do the Shin Cliffhanger and had hands together making the swing go everywhere and the jump put me further back than I was when I swung, And now I can do it pretty much perfect without much effort, so think about that (I've done more but this is just an example)

If you have a very good crush grip, the Curtain Cling might not be a problem, etc. It's kind of hard to choose between the stages. The Body Prop isn't easy, but the drain is going to be spread out over your body, and not focused on your grip. The Jumping Bar to Spider Flip section is much harder than the Jumping Bar to Devil's Swing section, and the Pipe Slider is trickier than the Gliding Ring. I don't think you can say either stage is definitely harder than the other.

Call me crazy but, stage 3 and stage 4 are VERY HARD
think about it: arm rings are an energy drainer, thats all, the beginning 3 obstacles arent ment to take you out. Why? because M9 knows that in order to keep the face of its business alive it needs success. If they made every single obstacle a destined to fail obstacle, then who would watch stage 3? people that laugh when someone falls into water. Now if they get the cliff hanger, and pass it, they have the next part, even more energy draining obstacles. Jumping bars, after hanging by ur finger for 4 obstacles, your asked to to it again, but to a lesser extent. but your arms are f***ing DEAD by this point, then yay! more finger tourture!!! Hang climbing, if this doesnt take you out then your fingers are in dead pain, your arms can barely take it anymore. Then you have the spider climb. once again, finger tourture and ur on your arms. do you kow how tired your arms are by now? plus you did stages 1 and 2. and its arund midnight. So, not only are you naturally tired, but your physicly tired. Then IF you make it up their, if you dont have a 2M broadjump, You. Are. f***ed. If your arms cant hang on, You. Are. f***ed. Lets say you make the jump. then wow u have to hang on by your arms again while hanging onto a small ring, which is harder to grip then a pipe. then the ring comes to a sudden stop. IF you manage to hold on, you have to swing atleast 2M to get to a platform, which most likely you have to hang onto dead life for.
If you manage to complete this marathon of a stage, and the 2 previous sprint at all time hurdles, you must, at 2am switch gears into a full on sprint.
Now lets recap what this sprint is.
A 13M (42.62ft) wobbly wooden ladder. Then a 10M (39ft) rope connnected to a bunggie cord so it bounces. In 40 seconds. Look at Kanno, we've seen his rope climbing skills. hes great. Look at him in SASUKE, horrific... could it be maybe hes.. DEAD TIRED?! look at him on the ladder, amazing pace for about 9M, then loook how he slows down, then his rope climb is horrible.
Point: the thirs stage is f***ing hard. But they know fans want people to get to the end, so they have 4 killer obstacles, and energy killers. Because M9 knows that success equals ratings. And without good ratings, there is no SASUKE.
